Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Meets Vin Diesel, Tyrese Responds To ‘Fast 8’ Instagram Rant

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson surprised many fans when he went on a rant about his “candy a**” Fast 8 male co-stars.

While he didn’t mention any names, reports suggest that his on-screen feud with Vin Diesel has come to life.

The Rock, who has over 100 million fans on Instagram and Facebook, posted a rant that states:

“My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken s**t to do anything about it anyway. Candy a***s. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right.”

Vin Diesel is also an executive producer on the Fast 8 movie and therefore has more influence on the direction of the movie. Reports suggest that this may be the source of the feud. TMZ reports that Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson had a sit down to hash out their differences to continue production of the movie in peace:

“Our sources say The Rock and Vin had a meeting on the Atlanta set mid-day Tuesday… partly because tensions were running so high it was almost impossible to shoot scenes. We do not know if they resolved their issues.”

One of The Rock’s male co-stars have spoken about the issue. In a now-deleted Instagram post captured by The Shaderoom, Tyrese stated that he does not know who the Dwayne Johnson is angry with. He suggests that The Rock singing to his daughter is proof that they have a good relationship. Tyrese also criticized The Rock for generalizing the male co-starts; however, Dwayne did state that some were very professional.

The previous installment, Fast 7 was a box office hit and is currently the sixth highest grossing film of all time. It was also the last film to feature superstar Paul Walker, who died tragically in a car accident three years ago at the age of 40.

The ensemble Fast 8 cast includes many notable acts and another TMZ report suggest that the problem could be a clash of egos. Some of the cast members include Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, Tyrese, Ludacris, and Scott Eastwood. TMZ sources state that they are not happy about the non-specific rant, which makes many cast members unsure if they have offended the WWE star:

“We’re told the male co-stars think Rock was out of line to talk crap, but given that he did they think it’s unforgivable he wasn’t specific because now they’re all suspects.”

The publication states that the feud is not with rapper Ludacris or singer Tyrese. Although The Rock is meeting with Vin Diesel, he may not be the person he is talking about. As an executive producer, Vin Diesel may also be responsible for making sure the cast get along for filming and the promotional tour that follows.

Some fans suspect that it is a publicity stunt since The Rock portrays Luke Hobbs, who has a rivalry with Vin Diesel’s character, Dominic Toretto.

Some fans of the franchise think the Fast and Furious series won’t be the same without Paul Walker, who plays Brian O’Conner.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is yet to release a statement clarifying his comments. It is reported that the Fast 8 cast has about two weeks of filming left, and Dwayne’s social media rant may affect how production continues as they wrap things up.

What do you think of The Rock’s comments? Should he have kept it private or named the person he was feuding with?
