Amber Heard Gossip: Actress Won’t Testify Against Johnny Depp?

The gossip surrounding Amber Heard is getting more and more strange as her divorce from Johnny Depp intensifies. Reports are starting to come in that the actress is refusing to testify against her soon-to-be ex-husband in the embattled couple’s domestic violence case…but why?

There are a few theories floating around, but let’s start with what we know for sure before speculating. According to TMZ, on Saturday, Amber went into a deposition with Johnny Depp’s lawyers. The deposition was supposed to begin at 10:00 in the morning, but Amber showed up nearly two hours late and proceeded to spend the entire day in the office alternately screaming, crying, and refusing to testify against The Lone Ranger actor. Depp’s attorney, Laura Wasser, also demanded that the actress turn over some requested documents. And though it’s unclear as to the nature of the documents Amber was supposed to turn over, needless to say, she refused to turn those over as well.

These erratic actions are prompting Depp’s legal team to demand that the domestic violence case against him be dismissed, or at the very least, Amber Heard should be prohibited from testifying against Depp at the upcoming trial.

So, what’s going on? According to the latest Amber Heard gossip, there are two reasonable possibilities. The first possibility is being presented by the Daily Mail, who contacted a “source” close to the actress, who claimed that Amber didn’t testify at her deposition because of legal logistics, not because of an emotional breakdown.

“She was there and ready to proceed. She never refused to go in.”

The source went on to say that the gossip about Amber Heard having a total breakdown is completely false: she was merely in the waiting room while her attorney, Samantha Spector, had a meeting with Depp’s attorney Laura Wasser. The two were trying to reach a mutually amicable settlement, but after nine hours of negotiations, were unable to do so. Though Amber Heard’s attorney denied this bit of gossip, the Daily Mail features video of Amber going into Laura Wasser’s office in Century City, CA, at 11:30 in the morning. Spector was already in the office at that time — having been there since 10:00 in the morning, when the deposition was about to begin — so it didn’t appear that Amber Heard was deliberately avoiding the deposition.

Us Weekly, on the other hand, has a very different take on today’s Amber Heard gossip: they contacted a “source” close to Johnny Depp, and this source is claiming that Johnny wants to settle with Amber Heard, but she’s refusing to do so.

“Johnny wants to settle and they are working on a settlement. But Amber showed up 90 minutes late for her deposition and then refused to give her deposition…[she is] delaying this because she wants more money. [She has] something to hide. There was nothing preventing Johnny’s counsel from commencing during the deposition time.”

The once-happy couple hasn’t even been in the same room since they first announced their split in May of this year, and there have been accusations of all kinds from both sides. Of course, the most intense bit of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard gossip is that the beloved actor was physically abusive toward the actress — an allegation that took the entertainment industry by storm — but thanks to this issue with the deposition and the actress seemingly unwilling to testify against her estranged husband, Depp and his attorneys are moving to have these charges dismissed.
