Gigi Hadid Focuses On The Olympics As Zayn Malik Drops ‘Cruel’ Single

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are nearly two months into their recently rekindled romance, but unfortunately, they haven’t let fans in on their behind-the-scenes moments in quite some time.

Although both Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have been active on social media recently, they appear to be focused on very different things. While Hadid continues to enjoy the ongoing Olympic games in Rio, Malik’s attention is on his career.

“The Olympics makes my heart so happy,” Gigi Hadid wrote on Twitter on August 8.

Meanwhile, Malik has been promoting his latest single, “Cruel,” a song by Snakehips on which he is featured. On August 8, Malik told fans the music video for the new song would be released on Tuesday, and he shared a clip with fans.

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik made headlines with their social media interaction with one another in mid-June after Malik canceled his concert in the U.K., which would have been his first solo performance in his home country. He revealed he had been suffering from what he referred to as the worst anxiety of his career. Following his announcement, Gigi Hadid shared a heartfelt note to Malik, in which she promised to support him through his rough times.

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have had an up and down romance in recent months, starting with an alleged falling out around the time of her 21st birthday in April.

Two months after Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik hit a rocky patch in their relationship, a source told E! News that they had officially called it quits, but they could get back together in the future.

“During her birthday they were fighting,” an insider explained to the outlet, revealing the couple had broken up a few times since Gigi Hadid’s birthday.

“Zayn and Gigi did break up, but they can likely get back together tomorrow. It’s all very unclear what’s going on between them now. They been having some issues lately that involved communication and getting along,” another source added.

The insider went on to reveal that Gigi Hadid was “really sad” about her split from Zayn Malik and was hoping to work things out. The source also said that Gigi Hadid missed her constant contact with the former One Direction singer.

Just a short time after Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik’s split was reported, the two were said to be back together and making a conscious effort to understand one another better.

“They have been working on their communication and being honest with each other and so far things are great,” a Hadid source told People Magazine. “They were fighting all the time and [Gigi Hadid] caught Zayn in a handful of lies and couldn’t take the mystery anymore, so she dumped him.”

At the time, the source claimed Gigi Hadid’s breakup from Malik didn’t stick because he “kept incessantly apologizing and wanted another chance.”

“[Gigi Hadid] gave it to him, and now he’s determined to prove himself to her,” the source revealed. “Everything’s good at the moment, but things could change overnight. Zayn is really going to need to continue to prove himself to her. Otherwise, she may not stick around.”

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik’s relationship began at the end of last year after the pair was seen mingling with one another after the American Music Awards and has continued to be a highly publicized relationship ever since.
