‘Game Of Thrones’ Spoilers: Jon Snow To Find Out About Parentage In Season 7?
Game of Thrones fans have a long wait ahead of them until Season 7 begins airing on HBO. Until that time, viewers are coming together online to talk about their passion for the books and the show and what lies ahead for their favorite characters.
Game & Guide reports that one Game of Thrones character, Jon Snow, has been the topic of a lot of conversation. When viewers last saw Jon, he had just defeated Ramsay Bolton and taken Winterfell back for the Stark family. He was also named King in the North, and many people rallied around him solely because he has Stark blood in his veins.
However, what they don’t know is that Jon Snow is also a Targaryen and the nephew of the Khaleesi herself, Daenerys Targaryen. Viewers were let in on this piece of information during the Season 6 finale. However, Jon has no idea that Ned Stark was actually his uncle and not his father.
During Game of Thrones Season 6, it was revealed that Ned Stark, trying to save his sister Lyanna, came across her while she was giving birth. Lyanna birthed her son and made her brother promise to protect him from Robert Baratheon and raise him as his own. Sadly, Lyanna died, and Ned kept his promise until the day he died.
Now, viewers are wondering if Season 7 will finally be the season when Jon Snow finds out that he is actually the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, Daenerys’ older brother. Bran Stark knows the truth now that he is officially the Three-Eyed Raven, and if he ever reunites with his siblings in Winterfell, he’ll have to tell Jon what he’s seen in his visions.
Knowing that Jon Snow is half Stark and half Targaryen makes him a very likely contender to sit on the Iron Throne. However, he’ll have a bit of competition. Currently, Cersei Lannister is the queen of the seven kingdoms, and that is not a title she will give up easily.
As Daenerys sails towards Westeros to take what she believes is her rightful spot on the throne, she will have to battle Cersei for the title of queen. Game of Thrones fans would love to see Cersei and Dany go head-to-head, but Daenerys has much more manpower than Cersei does at the moment. However, the newly-crowned queen could use more wildfire to defeat her enemies. Also, when Cersei finds out the truth about Jon, she could order him assassinated to eliminate the threat.
If Jon Snow learns the truth about his parents, there is the possibility that he may join forces with Daenerys Targaryen and her hand, Tyrion Lannister. Together, the three of them could become the ultimate rulers.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there is an interesting Game of Thrones theory that Tyrion Lannister may also be a member of the Targaryen family.
The theory suggests that Daenerys’ father, the Mad King, may have slept with Tyrion’s mother, Joanna, and conceived a child. If this theory is true, Tyrion would be Daenerys’ older brother and also have a claim to the Iron Throne.
Some viewers even believe that Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen will end up together and possibly get married. Although Dany is Jon’s aunt, the marriage could prove profitable for each of them, and it certainly wouldn’t be the most disgusting display of incest that Game of Thrones fans have seen on the series.
