‘American Horror Story’ Theory: Will Season 6 Of ‘AHS’ Be Centered Around The Charles Manson Family?

American Horror Story Season 6 is coming soon, and fans already have a whole slew of theories as to what the upcoming season will entail. While supposed leaks from the AHS set have fans thinking a colonial theme is in store, others are speculating that the new story will be centered around cult leader Charles Manson and his “family.”

According to the Huffington Post, the first supposed clue into the Charles Manson theory came after the FX series shared several video teasers on Snapchat last month. One video caught the fan’s attention when they saw the word “pig,” which is the same word that was written in actress Sharon Tate’s blood on the front door of the house where her body was found. The word was spelled out in a baby mobile, which is also important because Tate, who was the wife of film director Roman Polanski, was pregnant and just weeks away from giving birth at the time of her murder.

Cults

As Vanity Fair reports, the new teasers also point to a cult theme for American Horror Story, which would again fit the idea of a Charles Manson and family theme. Manson, who is currently serving out his life sentence at California’s Corcoran State Prison, was the cult leader in the 60s that led his followers, who he referred to as the “Family,” to murder eight people, including Tate.

“Given the red ‘6’ used in the promotional image, some wonder if we might be dealing with a satanic cult—666 for Season 6? Not a bad idea,” Vanity Fair speculates. “And if that’s the case, if the theme centers on one continuous Satanic cult that keeps recurring throughout American history, then this teaser becomes the most chilling of all.”

Spiders

While in prison, Charles Manson discovered his artistic abilities and became obsessed with spiders. According to Cracked.com, Manson spent his time in prison painting, sketching, and making spiders out of yarn and string.

What’s the connection between Manson’s spiders and American Horror Story? If you check out the latest poster, you will understand. The poster, which was released on August 5, shows a woman, who appears to be asleep, with spiders crawling out of her eyes.

Evan Peters’ Beard

Finally, fans were shocked when Evan Peters, who has appeared in all five seasons and is slated to return for number six, posted a photo on Instagram that showed him with untamed hair, a mustache, and a beard. Redditt user Ahszoo shared a side-by-side photo of the two, and Peters’ resemblance to an old photo of Charles Manson is shocking. Is Evan giving AHS fans a hint?

Although it is currently just a theory, the idea that Season 6 will focus on the Charles Manson family seems to have a lot of clues and evidence backing it up. Luckily, American Horror Story Season 6 premieres on September 14 on FX, and fans can find out the theme for themselves.
