Song Joong Ki Named Hottest Male Korean Star, Opens Up About Love Scenes With Song Hye-Kyo

Song Joong Ki has been named the sexiest male Korean star, according to Yibada. The 30-year-old Descendants of the Sun actor has topped the list of 10 Hottest Korean Stars of Early 2016.

Song Joong Ki, who is often compared to another Korean star Lee Min Ho, has won the Daily View‘s chart of hottest Korean male stars based on votes from Taiwanese voters. Lee Min Ho, meanwhile, finished second to Ki, and then came Kim Soo Hyun, the South Korean actor best known for his role in Dream High.

But Lee Min Ho wasn’t even close to snatching the victory from Song Joong Ki’s hands, as the Descendants of the Sun star received a whopping 9,638 points, while Min Ho got only 1,767 points.

The Top 10 also included Kim Soo Hyun (Dream High), So Ji Sub (Oh My Venus), Park Bo Gum (Blind), Lee Jong Suk (model), T.O.P. (South Korean rapper), Park Hae Jin (My Love from the Star), and Jo In Sung (What Happened in Bali).

The Top 10 Hottest Korean Stars of Early 2016 topped by Song Joong Ki once again proves that there is a huge craze about Korean actors in Asia. Daily View counted the points based on a real-time analysis of internet entries from January 24 to July 24.

Song Joong Ki’s overwhelming win this year comes as no surprise, since Descendants of the Sun, a 16-episode TV show, was airing on KBS 2TV in South Korea and video platform iQiyi in China during this period.

However, Movie News Guide said Lee Min Ho is more popular than Song Joong Ki. The website based its assessment on Internet data as well as the fact that the Bounty Hunter actor has been chosen as South Korea’s representative to the 2016 KCON in California.

But even though he is the sexiest male Korean star, it doesn’t mean Song Joong Ki is a romantic person, according to the Parent Herald. In fact, at a recent fan meeting in Thailand, the Korean actor admitted he is not as romantic as his character in the hit South Korean TV series Descendants of the Sun.

Song Joong Ki, who played Capt. Yoo Shi Jin in the TV show and is rumored to have reprised the same role in a Hollywood adaptation, said his Descendants of the Sun character defeats him in being “super romantic.”

During the same fan meeting, Song Joong Ki also said he won’t rush his love life. When asked during the event if he would keep trying to date a girl who had rejected him countless times, the Korean actor revealed that he is waiting for a woman to be madly in love with.

“If she is the woman that I’m truly in love with, I will always be waiting.”

Perhaps the most interesting thing about Song Joong Ki is that although he has just been named the sexiest Korean male star of 2016, he still wants to improve himself. It may be surprising but the Korean actor doesn’t think he is perfect, and admits that he wants to become as tall as his friend, Lee Kwang-soo.

Song Joong Ki also opened up about what it was like doing love scenes with his Descendants of the Sun co-star Song Hye-Kyo. When asked if it was difficult to do love scenes with Hye-Kyo, the Korean actor was very sweet about it.

Song Joong Ki admitted that it was much easier to do love scenes than action scenes only because it was Song Hye-Kyo he was doing those love scenes with.
