‘Teen Mom 2’ Leah Messer Fumes At Airline After Daughter Ali’s Wheelchair Is Destroyed

Leah Messer isn’t happy with United Airlines after the company reportedly destroyed her daughter Ali’s wheelchair during a flight from Los Angeles to West Virginia.

After landing in Chicago for a layover, the Teen Mom 2 star took to Instagram, and she put United on blast, claiming they not only damaged her daughter’s wheelchair, but the airline also failed to do anything about it.

“This is despicable @United!!” Leah Messer wrote on Instagram on August 7. “How can you destroy a child’s wheelchair and turn the other cheek! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! Now I’m standing @flyohare HOPING I don’t miss my flight. As I am waiting for her wheelchair to be transported to our plane. #why #disappointed.”

Along with Leah Messer’s post, which was also shared on Twitter, the reality star and mother of three shared a photo of the wheelchair, which appeared to have several broken parts.

A short time later, United responded to Leah Messer via Twitter, writing, “Could you please DM the confirmation number, phone number, email address and MileagePlus number? We’d like to follow-up.”

“Yes! I just made it to my gate and boarding. Will send it as soon as I land. Thank you,” Leah Messer told the airline.

Leah Messer’s daughter, 6-year-old Ali, suffers from a rare form of muscular dystrophy and needs her wheelchair regularly. Although Ali can still walk, she is expected to be dependent on the chair full-time in the future.

Leah Messer and her kids had been in Los Angeles for a week leading up to their trip home and were staying at the Great Wolf Lounge, where the girls, Ali, Aleeah, 6, and Adalynn, 3, enjoyed several activities at the water park and at the salon.

A short time before Leah Messer’s getaway with her kids, the twins, Ali and Aleeah, went on a vacation with their father, Corey Simms, and his wife, Miranda. While there was no confirmation as to where the couple took the kids, Miranda shared several photos of the group at a zoo and in a pool.

Months ago, during the airing of Teen Mom 2 Season 7, Leah Messer’s ex-husband’s wife, Miranda, was accused of forcing Ali to carry her heavy book bag to school despite her disability. However, after Leah Messer claimed Ali had revealed this information in a shocking video shot by a family member, Miranda defended herself.

“I always try to carry Ali’s backpack for her,” Miranda explained to MTV News earlier this year. “I would never try to do any harm to the children or create any kind of task that I know Ali cannot do… I’m not saying how she felt was wrong — her feelings are important. I just hope that we can move on, and I hope that the girls feel comfortable no matter where they are at one time.”

“Miranda has been around the girls since they were two years old,” Corey Simms stated. “Miranda is aware of what Ali is capable of and what she’s not capable of doing. If Miranda would have felt that the backpack was too heavy, she would not have made her carry the backpack.”

Miranda also addressed claims that she was more interested in her new baby than the twins, telling the outlet, “After Remi was born, I’ve never seen any type of jealousy that the girls had toward Remi or any kind of feeling that they felt left out. Yes, it would be a big change for two six-year-olds to have a new baby in their lives when they’re used to just being the kids in the house.”
