Britney Spears Confirmed For Carpool Karaoke With James Corden, Promotes New Hip-Hop Album ‘Make Me’

Britney Spears will be on The Late Late Show With James Corden this August. An insider close to the “Make Me” singer confirmed that she has agreed to join Corden in his car for his famous Carpool Karaoke segment.

According to Page Six, Britney Spears will be on The Late Late Show to promote her new album, Glory, which will be released on August 26. The source said that her team is working overtime to get her new album to debut at No. 1.

Apart from Spears, fans of Carpool Karaoke may also expect to see Kanye West soon. Corden told British GQ that the rapper has also agreed to go on the show, but had to cancel because of his other commitments.

“Kanye has been booked to do Carpool Karaoke now twice and both times something came up. He’ll do it eventually. He wants to do it,” Corden said.

Spears recently released her new music video for single, “Make Me.” Directed by Randee St. Nicholas, the steamy clip shows the singer and her girlfriends auditioning male dancers. She also tried to select her next love interest from a sea of shirtless men.

Spears announced, via her official Twitter account, that her new album, titled Glory will be released on August 26. She also tweeted that fans can already pre-order on Apple Music. Those who pre-ordered Glory will be able to stream an exclusive new track called “Private Show.”

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest earlier this week, Britney Spears said that Glory is going to be different from her previous albums. She said that this time around, it will have a more “urban” tone, calling it her most hip-hop album to date.

“It took a lot of time, but I think we brought it to a level where I was really, really happy with what I had. It’s cool, it’s really different. I think this is probably the most hip-hop album. Not most, there are like two or three songs that go in the direction of more urban that I’ve wanted to do for a long time now, and I just haven’t really done that,” she said.

While some fans were dubious about the new direction Britney is heading, the “Toxic” singer revealed that this is really something she feels passionate about. She added that she has always wanted to do a hip-hop album for quite some time.

“We’re just going to be so creative and pull some tricks out of our sleeves here. Honestly, I haven’t even began a creative process on this, but I do know this is one of the things where I do what I do — to think of cool things to do with other people and stuff like that. It’s going to be awesome.”

Glory is gong to be Britney’s ninth studio album, following Britney Jean, which was released on 2013. The singer shared that she has been very involved with her new album, making sure that everything is perfect prior to its release. Although she has always been keen about heading towards a different direction, Britney admitted that there were times where she couldn’t help but feel stuck with the creative process.

“There were some parts where it was just kind of hard because I wanted things to be so good and it’s like, when you’re writing, sometimes you just have days where you suck.”
