iPad Pro 2 Release Date Pegged For Late 2016 With Production Set For Next Month?

Is Apple already prepping for the iPad Pro 2 release date with the iOS slate’s production reportedly set for next month?

The latest speculations on the iPad Pro 2 release date noted the possibility that Apple might launch it at some point during the last quarter of the year. According to Know Your Mobile, the unveiling could be scheduled for October or November, which means that the production process could commence in September.

Rumors about the iPad Pro 2 release date are scarce compared to news and speculations circulating regarding Apple’s new smartphone, the iPhone 7. However, last month, two images of the supposed iPad Pro 2 were sent to Apple Insider, and the publication noted that based on some clues, the photos showed a pre-production unit or a prototype device.

Apple Insider explained, “For example, the tablet is carrying only 12 gigabytes of storage, just enough for loading an operating system and apps for internal testing and hardware debugging. As for the OS itself, the photos reveal a build number corresponding to Apple’s latest iOS 10 beta, which was released to developers earlier this month.”

Furthermore, the iOS tablet shown in the photo is carrying the model number MH1C2CD/F, which according to Apple Insider, follows the Cupertino-based tech giant’s identification system.

Just like the case of the tablet’s unofficial release date, the iPad Pro 2 specs continue to remain as rumors. But being a second-generation Apple’s premium tablet experience, the device is expected to bring in enhanced specs and features. For instance, the iPad Pro 2 will most likely be equipped with a faster processor – an Apple A10X to be specific.

As reported by Know Your Mobile, the upcoming 12.9-inch Apple slate might also feature the adaptive display technology used in the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

“[This] allows the screen to adjust brightness and colour dynamically with ambient lighting,” the publication described.

The Mirror also cited the possibility of ditching the 32GB variant as the base model for the iPad Pro 2. Instead, Apple might just offer a 64 GB base model. The iPad Pro 2 might also copy the design feature rumored for iPhone 7, such as not having an audio jack and instead showcasing the USB-C connection. Folks from the Mirror also reported the possibility that the iPad Pro 2 will have a rose gold variant.

Other features found on the original version that can be expected upon the iPad Pro 2 release are the Apple Pencil stylus, the quad-speaker, Smart Keyboard setup and Smart Connector.

According to a review made by Tech Radar for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, Apple is not positioning the device into a specific market as it is made “to be a media hub, a decent word processor, a creative design tool, and then anything the app world can dream up besides.” The publication cited the tablet’s expansive usable screen and its speakers as its strengths. Meanwhile, as possible areas of improvement, the 2015 iPad Pro’s battery life could be longer, the review noted. As a general verdict, though, Tech Radar shared that it is a “brilliant iPad that takes the devices into a new realm.”

As for news about Apple’s upcoming smartphone, iPhone 7’s market release is currently tipped for September 16, according to a tweet posted by a prolific tipster, Evan Blass (@evleaks).

Forbes explained that a new iPhone family will be unveiled on September 9, and the new Apple handset devices will go on sale a week after.
