Peta Murgatroyd Baby Update: ‘DWTS’ Pro Jokes About Her Double Ds
Peta Murgatroyd is embracing her ever-changing body. The pregnant Dancing With the Stars mirrorball champ shared a photo with fans that makes it clear which part of her body her pregnancy pounds are going to first. Peta posted an Instagram selfie that shows her increased breast size now that she’s in her second trimester. In the caption, Murgatroyd wrote that she is now a double D cup size.
“Hi boobs… My lawd this milk thing is no joke #DoublesDs,” Peta wrote.
In a separate Twitter post, Murgatroyd revealed that, while she definitely plans to breastfeed her bundle of joy, she doesn’t know how much more frontal weight she can “lug around.” Peta joked that she is going to need a “harness” soon.

Peta also posted a photo that shows off her baby bump. In the caption she joked about her “expanding rear,” so it sounds like her whole body is changing.

Peta previously told People that she has definite food cravings, but not for junk like fast food or doughnuts. Instead, she craves fresh fruit and the pregnancy staple, pickles.
“I’ll have everything at the same time,” Murgatroyd revealed. “I’ll have organic salsa and chips and then pineapple, and I’ll finish it with two pickles.”
As Dancing fans know, Peta Murgatroyd is expecting her first baby with longtime love and fellow DWTS champ Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The happy couple became engaged last New Year’s Eve in front of fans during a performance of SWAY: A Dance Trilogy in Miami, and they announced their baby news shortly after the 22nd season of Dancing With the Stars wrapped in May.
While Maks and Peta haven’t released many details about the pregnancy, they gave fans a clue to baby Chmerkovskiy’s gender via Peta’s 30th birthday cake last month. The cake was decorated with blue icing and blue baby booties with the message “I love you both” written on it, presumably from the proud papa.
In addition, multiple sources confirmed to Us Weekly that Peta is pregnant with a baby boy.
While she’s now showing off her pregnant body, Murgatroyd previously told People that she tried to keep her pregnancy news a secret during the most recent DWTS season, but it was very difficult because she had severe morning sickness.
“I was so sick,” Peta told People. “Nyle [DiMarco] would see me falling asleep on the couches and on the floor of the rehearsal studio. He’d look at me like, ‘What’s going on?’ And I’d go, ‘Oh, I’m just tired.’ I had to make sure my costumes were hiding it as much as possible, but a couple of people noticed.”
Peta also said that it wasn’t long before DiMarco, her winning DWTS partner, sent her a text revealing that he knew what was up.
In an interview with Good Morning America, longtime Dancing With the Stars host Tom Bergeron said Peta Murgatroyd’s hormones got the best of her by the end of the 22nd season of the celebrity ballroom competition.
“At the end of the season, if you just said hello to Peta, [she’d] start weeping,” Bergeron joked. “That’s going to be a good-looking kid.”
While the Dancing cast may have had a clue or two, Murgatroyd told People that she and Chmerkovskiy told their parents about their baby news first, via Skype. Peta revealed that both sets of soon-to-be grandparents had been waiting for this news for a long time and that everyone in the family was excited.
“They have been waiting for this for so long. My parents have wanted me to be pregnant for so long and Maks has been wanting a baby for a long time. I can’t wait to be a mom!”
Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd have put their wedding plans on hold until after their baby comes—they now plan to tie the knot next summer—and it’s no surprise that their first child is their main focus. Murgatroyd told People she can’t wait to meet her little one.
“I’m looking forward to nurturing something and just having the baby be the center of our world,” Murgatroyd said. “I’m looking forward to putting all our energy into this beautiful soul.”
