Milo Ventimiglia Admits He Was Shocked To See His Naked Butt In The 'This Is Us' Trailer

Milo Ventimiglia is opening up about the This Is Us trailer that has been viewed on YouTube more than 70 million times. In the clip, Milo's bare bottom can be seen, and even he says he was shocked to see his butt on television.

In a recent interview with Vulture, the former Heroes and Gilmore Girls actor spoke about his lead role in the upcoming NBC series, and admitted he was a bit surprised when his butt was exposed for the whole world to see.

"I got to set on day one of filming, walked into my trailer, and I saw varying sizes of nude cloth and tape," Milo recalled while speaking to Vulture at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's annual Grants Banquet on Thursday night at the Beverly Wilshire hotel. "And I've done [nude scenes] enough times to know exactly strategically how to place my manhood, so as to be respectful of the crew and my co-star. But then it was like, eh, this is NBC, they can't show this stuff on TV, it's no big deal. They're gonna cut and get a side of my hip, or anything like that. But no, when I saw the trailer I'm like, 'Wow, man, that is my a** and that is my a** before my face. Okay, here we go.'"

Milo's co-star Mandy Moore, who plays his pregnant wife in the new series, also spoke about Ventimiglia's "derriere" at the event.

"I know full well that we've all been upstaged by the derriere," Moore said at the banquet. "And I'm totally fine with it. It's a really good butt. And I got to look at it for almost a whole day."

She added about their first day of filming, "I'm like, 'Hi, I know we barely know each other but can I see your naked butt? Cool, great, thanks, bye.' He seemed so comfortable. Like, I don't know if this is true, but he seems like the kind of guy that would totally be fine to walk around in the nude … I guess if you work that hard for a body like that, I would probably walk around naked all the time, too."

The This Is Us trailer wasn't the first time Milo has shown off his butt onscreen. Viewers also got a sneak peak during the 2012 film That's My Boy.

"The funny thing is, if this is the first time you're seeing my a**, I think you're a little behind," Ventimiglia said. "No pun intended."

This Is Us premieres on NBC on Sept. 20.

In addition to his lead role on the NBC series, Ventimiglia has also signed on to reprise his role as Jess Mariano in the Netflix Gilmore Girls revival. Milo's character was one of the many love interests of the main character Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel). Unfortunately, Ventimiglia says we won't be seeing his butt during the four-part revival.

"No," he said. "But I probably make an a** of myself in Gilmore Girls so it's a different kind of a thing. My a** is on my face."

Last year, the Gilmore Girls cast reunited at the ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas, where both Milo talked about Rory's love life and who he pictured her ending up with.

"I'm going to say Jess, but I love Dean. Mostly because I love Jared, but at the same time, in the same breath, I can't say I don't love Matty, because I love Matty, but Logan was a d***," Ventimiglia told People Magazine at the time. "I think Rory, she had some wild ones. She had a good range of romantic relationships."
