‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For August 5, Zhalo Supercell And Graviton Forfeit

Xûr popped into the Tower Friday with a handful of Exotic pieces not seen on sale in a while. Destiny owners on PlayStation and Xbox consoles can look forward to the opportunity to pick up the Zhalo Supercell along with the Graviton Forfeit for Hunters.

Xûr can be found just outside of the Speaker’s building next to the railing overlooking the city this weekend. Turn left as soon as you spawn in the Tower and run straight to the north part of the social space. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map.

Zhalo Supercell

This Exotic Auto Rifle is the only new Primary Weapon in Destiny: The Taken King that is capable of dishing out elemental damage. While the piece is limited to Arc damage, it is still a deliciously fun weapon to use. The namesake primary perk gives each shot a chance to chain lightning damage when enemies are close together. It also adds the “Bolts from the Blue” perk in the final column to charge super energy and return ammo when stringing kills together.

In short, the Zhalo Supercell is a fun weapon to use that is capable of dishing out a good amount of damage despite being the high rate of fire, low impact archetype.

No Backup Plans

No Backup Plans has received a nice upgrade for Year Two, but it’s still a purely personal defense armor piece. The “Force Multiplier” perk is the signature item on the Gauntlets and triggers the Force Barrier with Shotgun kills, and the overshield’s duration is increased. This turns Defenders into a more aggressive sub-class in PVP and increases survivability in tight PVE encounters.

The optional Perks include “Rain Blows” and “Momentum Transfer” for a choice between faster melee speed or bonus melee energy on grenade hits. There’s also a choice between faster Shotgun or Machine Gun reloads.

The 62 Strength stat roll is quite low for No Backup Plans. Consider re-rolling to shoot for a higher pure Strength stat.

Graviton Forfeit

This Exotic helmet is geared toward Nightstalker Hunters by granting the Shadestep ability for free via the “Elusive Shadow” perk. This frees up the final column in the Nightstalker skill tree to choose between “Keen Scout” and “Predator.”

The optional perks include “Inverse Shadow” for bonus Super energy from all PVE kills and “Heavy Lifting” for bonus Super energy from Heavy Weapon kills. “Invigoration” is the final column perk with bonus melee energy from picking up Orbs of Light.

This is a solid pickup for PVE and PVP encounter, although the 47 Intellect / 46 Strength stat roll is quite low. Destiny players should consider re-rolling to obtain better stats while also keeping “Inverse Shadow” in the third column.

Apotheosis Veil

The Apotheosis Veil lost its uniqueness from Year One when Bungie introduced the Infusion and Better Already perks in Year Two. This resulted in the helmet’s intrinsic perk being boosted to grant full health, melee, and grenade energy when activating a Super.

The optional perks have the right roll with “Inverse Shadow” for extra Super energy from minion kills and “Second Thoughts” for bonus Super energy from Secondary Weapon kills. The third column perk is set as “Innervation” with bonus grenade energy after picking up Orbs of Light.

The 47 Intellect / 50 Strength split stat roll is decent for the helmet. Consider re-rolling based on your Guardian’s current needs while also trying to keep “Inverse Shadow.”
