Gwen Stefani Talks Gavin Rossdale Split Amid Blake Shelton Engagement And Wedding Rumors

Gwen Stefani opened up about her shocking split from Gavin Rossdale in a new interview.

As rumors claiming she and Blake Shelton will soon become engaged continue to swirl, Gwen Stefani spoke to Cosmopolitan magazine about her torturous divorce from the father of her three children, Kingston, 10, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 2.

In November of last year, Us Weekly shared a report claiming Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s 13-year marriage came to an end in 2015 after Stefani learned Rossdale had been engaged in a three-year affair with their former nanny, Mindy Mann. At the time, a source told the magazine that another employee of the couple had informed Gwen Stefani of her husband’s alleged relationship with Mann and Stefani found messages sent between the pair on the family’s iPad.

Although the confrontation between Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale took place in February of last year, Rossdale, who was reportedly sleeping with Mann during the time Stefani was pregnant with their youngest son, initially denied cheating on Stefani with Mann, and for months, they attempted to mend their marriage.

While both Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have failed to confirm or deny the report, the source claimed Rossdale eventually admitted to cheating and in August of last year, as Stefani filmed The Voice Season 9 alongside her now-boyfriend Blake Shelton, she and Rossdale announced their decision to part ways.

“Nobody except for my parents, the people involved, and whoever they told [know what happened]. Nobody would believe it if I could really say what happened,” Gwen Stefani revealed to Cosmopolitan magazine. “I went through months and months of torture.”

Following Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s breakup, Stefani began dating Shelton, who had also recently split from his Miranda Lambert. In July 2015, Shelton announced he and his then-wife were ending their marriage after just four years.

“We were laughing our heads off when we saw the blind auditions. I love NBC, but they for sure edited stuff to look like we were flirting,” Gwen Stefani told the magazine of her early Season 9 encounters with Shelton. “They chose to run with that story before anything was even real. I hardly knew him. But it was like it was in the air — happening before it happened.”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton went public with their relationship in November of last year as The Voice Season 9 aired on NBC, and around the same time, they wrote their first song together, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart.”

“We were both having trust issues, as you would if you were us. It was like, ‘I have so many problems. How can I now be getting into another potentially huge problem? What am I doing?'” Gwen Stefani recalled.

“Blake wrote the song and sent it to me. He was like, ‘Help me finish it.’ I wrote a verse and sent it to him, but he was gone because he doesn’t live in L.A. He didn’t have WiFi, so he wasn’t answering me back! As soon as he came back to town, he brought his guitar over. We were like, ‘We wrote a song together! This is crazy!'”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been going strong ever since their relationship began and recently, reports have claimed they could soon become engaged. In addition to rumors of an engagement, the couple have faced reports of a secret wedding and pregnancies in recent months.
