Ryan Gosling and his wife Eva Mendes are becoming more public about their super secretive life. Not only do they appear more in public, but they are also talking about their daughters in interviews! At this rate, Ryan and Eva might become the most talked-about couple in Hollywood.
In an interview with Latina, Eva Mendes spilled the beans on why her daughters share a name. This is the first time that The Place Beyond the Pines actress spoke directly about her family life with Ryan Gosling.
“My grandmother’s name is Amada, and Esmeralda Amada is the name of our oldest,” she said. “We had a few names picked out for our new baby, and when she was born, we didn’t feel like those names were her. We came up with a few more, even that morning, and tried them out. We were like, “What about Viviana?” But we just kept going back to Amada. In true Latin fashion, we reuse names all the time.”
Right now, Ryan is busier than ever with his upcoming movies. He is busy promoting his new movie, La La Land, at the Toronto International Film Festival, as well as filming Blade Runner 2 in the Czech Republic.
His most recent film endeavor, La La Land, reunited him with Emma Stone, with whom he also shared the screen in Crazy, Stupid Love. Their infinite onscreen chemistry was discovered by the director of 2011 movie, and since then, movie producers have been trying to pair Ryan and Emma together again.
“It was very evident very early,” the Crazy, Stupid Love director said to Entertainment Weekly. “When Emma came in, she sat down, she was ready to go; Ryan walked in, immediately flubbed his first line, and she just laid into him, like, “Oh, you’re killing this buddy.” She was the only one not to be intimidated by him.”
Most importantly, he confirmed that their palpable onscreen chemistry also true in real life.
“They love each other in real life, and they get on like a house on fire,” he revealed. “It wasn’t a lot of heavy lifting on our part. It’s making a move to hire the right chemistry.”
It must be unnerving for his wife to trust that his onscreen chemistry won’t spill over to any affairs in real life, but Eva Mendes has focused on her career, family, and daughters to be able to stay sane in Hollywood.
“I think like such a mom now—big picture— as far as what I’m putting out there, not only for my children but for other children,” she said to Latina.
Ryan Gosling also puts that much effort into his budding family as well. Because the filming for his new movie might take a while, the Crazy, Stupid Love actor relocated his wife and baby daughters to Budapest so that they can be near each other as he works.
“36-year-old Canadian actor Ryan Gosling has arrived to Budapest on Friday morning for the shooting of the new sequel to the movie Blade Runner, to hit cinemas in late 2017,” reports Hungary Today. “The actor was photographed at Budapest international airport in the company of his partner Eva Mendes and their two children, as well as the family’s dog George, adopted from an animal shelter in 2000.”
While they have not confirmed their marital status publicly, there have been rumors that the movie stars tied the knot this summer with the arrival of their second daughter.
“[Eva] proposed to Ryan and he was completely shocked,” a source said according to Hollywood Life. “The buzz is that they invited fewer than 30 people and told everyone they were coming to a backyard party. Of course, anyone there was sworn to secrecy! She doesn’t want them to grow up thinking that marriage is something to be avoided.”
Wherever their movie careers take them, it looks like Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are prepared to keep their family together.
