‘The Bachelorette’: Jordan Rodgers Addresses Cheating Rumors And Other Struggles

For Jordan Rodgers and other contestants on the latest season of The Bachelorette, rumors circulated about his true intentions for appearing on the show and issues related to his personal life came into focus. Jordan ended up the winner, engaged to JoJo Fletcher, but the struggles have been and are real. Among recent rumors are those that say he has not been faithful to Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher. Rodgers recently opened up to People about his struggles both during the Bachelorette season and outside of the show.

Jordan says that he feels like he was misunderstood during his time on The Bachelorette, largely because people made false assumptions about him. Rodgers says that’s nothing new, though. It’s something he has dealt with all his life.

“Everyone likes to categorize professional athletes. For someone who plays quarterback, let alone has the name recognition, it’s something I’m always fighting every step of the way.”

Beyond the battles Jordan has faced because of the name recognition that comes with having Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers for a brother, Jordan says that people also make assumptions about the kind of life he and his family had while he was growing up.

“I lived in 13 houses growing up. We never owned a house; we didn’t have money. So when people say I’m entitled, that’s not at all true. It’s tough when people who don’t know me assume that they do.”

Rumors of Rodgers cheating on JoJo came from his ex-girlfriend, Brittany Farrar. In May, she made an Instagram post in which she accused Jordan of cheating on Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher. Us Weekly reports that in a recent conversation with him, Rodgers denied all the accusations. He called her accusations “very untrue allegations,” and said he is looking forward to starting a new life with Fletcher.

At one point in the recent season of The Bachelorette, JoJo confronted Jordan about charges of infidelity that had been made by a woman she ran into who claimed to have gone out with him a few times. Fletcher has confirmed that woman was not Farrar. She also said that she has learned to take anything exes say with a grain of salt.

Another challenge faced by Jordan throughout The Bachelorette was dealing with some private matters becoming public, specifically that his family is estranged from his football star brother Aaron Rodgers. On the show, no one ever revealed the reason that none of them currently have a relationship with Aaron, but Zap2It recently reported that it may have to do with Aaron failing to show up at a friend’s wedding to be a groomsman as he had committed. Another reason suggested for Jordan and his family not speaking to Aaron is that his girlfriend, Olivia Munn, has publicly spoken about their sex life, something the family found offensive.

Neither Jordan nor JoJo seem to be focused on the past at this point though. They had a tough road throughout The Bachelorette. She felt an instant connection to Rodgers from the first night and even gave him the first impression rose that night. Between that point in the beginning and their engagement, there were obstacles every step of the way, with JoJo not making a final decision and feeling like she may be in love with two people right up to the last day. Now Jordan says they are moving forward. He told People the following.

“Anything with my family, JoJo’s been a part of my family, and any conversations we have about that moving forward are with us and about us, and we’re excited about starting that journey with our families. I’ll be in Dallas closer to her family, and so we’re ready for that.”
