Taylor Swift Purr-fectly Ends Social Media War With Love For Selena Gomez And Cat

Taylor Swift had a variety of options for returning to social media after her epic war with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. She could have thrown shade at Kim and Kanye in general, added more fuel to the ongoing feud with West, or even mocked Kardashian’s nude selfies. But instead, Swift took the high road, sending a message of love for her best friend Selena Gomez and her beloved cats.

Famed for those gorgeous photos of her friends, including the ones showcasing her Fourth of July party for her pals, Taylor suddenly stopped posting on Instagram. Two weeks after that, Swift responded to her battle with Kanye and Kim with a single comment, then maintained social media silence again, pointed out E! News.

The response to her war with West and Kardashian occurred following Kim’s post of recordings that supposedly proved Taylor had approved the lyrics from West’s track “Famous.” Swift used Instagram to explain precisely her view on the situation.

“Where in the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that b*tch’ in his song? It doesn’t exist because it never happened. You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that b*tch’ in front of the entire world,” challenged Taylor.

“Of course I wanted to like the song. I wanted to believe Kanye when he told me that I would love the song.”

Swift continued her message prior to her social media silence by insisting that she had desired to maintain a positive relationship with West.

“I wanted us to have a friendly relationship. He promised to play the song for me, but he never did,” she asserted. “While I wanted to be supportive of Kanye on the phone call, you cannot ‘approve’ a song you haven’t heard.”

The feud between Taylor and West escalated in 2009, when he broke into her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. Taylor also referenced his interruption in her comments.

“I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one that I have never asked to be a part of, since 2009.”

A representative for Swift clarified that Kanye’s call was not for approval but to request that the singer release his “Famous” single using her own Twitter account. She reportedly refused, warning him about the potential risks of sharing a tune “with such a strong misogynistic message.”

The videos shared by Kim do indicate that she approved some of the lyrics, including “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex,” but do not show any proof that Swift approved the statement that West “made that b*tch famous.”

Following her blast back at Kim and Kanye and social media silence, Taylor is making it clear she’s ready to return to social media by focusing on the positive. Step one: A sweet birthday message to her best friend, showing them both from their younger days and indicating mutual love by making a heart shape with their hands joined.

Also showing how her squad of friends helps her get through tough times, Taylor celebrated her return to social media after her blackout by sharing a birthday message for squad member and friend Karlie Kloss.

“I LOVE YOU KARLIE! You’re such an exquisite person, always trying to make things better for others. Every day I’m inspired by how giving, loving, and thoughtful you are. Happy 24th Birthday!!! @karliekloss,” wrote Swift.

And it really became clear that Taylor was back on social media when she posted one of her favorite things: Her cat. The singer shared a video of kitty pal Olivia Benson by using Instagram’s new Instagram Stories feature.

Olivia stood on her back legs in response.

“You gonna look less like a cat and more like a squirrel today?” teased Taylor.

Although it’s not known how Swift’s cat feels about becoming even more famous, one member of Taylor’s squad appreciates the boost. In addition to wishing Karlie happy birthday on Instagram, Swift took time to Skype with the supermodel, reported Billboard.
