Ronda Rousey Faces Amanda Nunes After Baby Rumors With Travis Browne

Ronda Rousey may be closer than ever in naming the next fight dates against the reigning belt holder, Amanda Nunes. She has been out for a while, recovering from the trauma of losing to Holly Holm as well as getting some surgical work done. While some have hinted that she took this long hiatus to have a baby with her boyfriend, Travis Browne, this remains untrue.

If she is not having a baby with Travis Browne, then Amanda Nunes would very much appreciate it if Ronda Rousey could set the date for their next fight.

“The newly crowned women’s bantamweight champion declared on Friday that Rousey is the name at the top of the list when it comes to her first title defense,” reports Fox Sports.

“I’ve been training jiu-jitsu since I started,” Amanda Nunes said. “Jiu-jitsu and judo both together. I know how to block very well judo throws, I know how to use my hips very well. I know if Ronda Rousey is coming back, I’m going to keep the championship.”

“I’m going to beat Ronda Rousey and then wait for the next. I’m going to wait for her to prove to everybody one more time I deserve to be here.”

Amanda Nunes beat the previous belt holder, Miesha Tate, to clinch the championship title. She is the first female Brazilian UFC champion.

I feel amazing,” Amanda said after winning. “Every fighter has something to change to evolve. I am this kind of fighter. I always have to work to try to make things happen in my life. Everybody knows that I respect Miesha a lot, but I’m the new champion.”

Despite challenges from the Brazilian, the 29-year-old fighter has not spoken about when she will be returning to the ring.

Her long break from fighting has triggered baby rumors all around. Her rivals has also helped perpetuate the rumor.

This started when Ronda Rousey said in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that the only reason why she did not give into her suicidal thoughts is because she wanted to have a baby with her boyfriend, Travis Browne.

“To be honest, I looked up and saw that my man Travis was standing there, and I looked up at him and was just like, ‘I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive,'” she said. “I was thinking I was meant to have him when I was at my lowest. I wouldn’t have made it without him.”

No wonder the public is wondering if the former UFC champion is pregnant!

She has definitely taken her time to recover from her big loss. She recently was seen engaged in some much needed retail therapy while giving time to herself to heal her knee.

“She had knee surgery one week ago,” reports the Daily Mail. “And Ronda Rousey was indulging in some retail therapy as she was spotted in Santa Monica, California, this Wednesday. The 29-year-old mixed martial artist looked remarkably relaxed and happy as she checked out some clothing stores.”

But now, she is clocking in long hours at the gym to get ready to face Amanda Nunes.

“It’s important to keep that intensity and that consistency,” Edmond Tarverdyan, her trainer and coach, said according to Yahoo. “To be a professional fighter, you want to be able to punch non-stop.”

“When you learn how to throw a punch you’re throwing it with your whole body – your hips, your shoulders, your core is tight,” he continued. “You’re engaging maximum focus, maximum speed, maximum power.”

She also recently released a Reebok ad that showed she is ready to fight. The video largely features the west coast native as she gets undressed from a photoshoot, ready to hit the bag in the gym. She also emphasizes that she isn’t perfect, but she is ready to work hard.
