Grigor Dimitrov Goes To Rio Olympics Without Girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger

Grigor Dimitrov is heading to Rio Olympics seemingly without his girlfriend, Nicole Scherzinger. Just four days to go till his first match, the 25-year-old Bulgarian is readying himself for one of the biggest tournaments of his career while Nicole Scherzinger parties on a boat in Greece.

Grigor and Nicole have faced countless split rumors despite the fact that they have often stepped out together after his games. The fact that they have not been seen together in over a month is exacerbating the split rumors.

Right now, the 38-year-old the X-Factor judge is having a great time in the Mediterranean with her girlfriends, dancing and singing up a storm.

“The former Pussycat Dolls singer made jaws drop as she put on a stunning display in a nautical red bikini with extra strap detailing,” reports the Daily Mail. “Nicole was on fine form as she partied on board the vessel, waving her arms around as she danced to the music with her friends.”

At the same, Grigor Dimitrov was busy with Rogers Cup in Toronto, trying to have a comeback right before Rio Olympics. He made it up to the quarterfinals and was defeated by Kei Nishikori, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.

“Nishikori broke his opponent to go 3-2 up, then again at 5-3 to take the first set, but Dimitrov fought back to make an immediate break at the third seed’s expense,” reports Euro Sports. “But Nishikori looked livelier in the third set, going on an impressive run of five games before eventually serving out the match at 5-2.”

This is the farthest that the Bulgarian got to in an ATP tournament, which means that he may be feeling a little bit more hopeful going into Rio Olympics.

Earlier this summer, after being ousted in first and second round matches in major tournaments, the young tennis player expressed that he was very concerned about his career.

“I’ve lost a lot of confidence in myself,” Grigor said to Sports 360. “It’s not easy to come off losing those kind of matches, those close matches. In the past years I’ve been winning those close matches and that gives you a lot of confidence and motivation… I’ve been there before but this time it’s just kind of different. Sometimes it’s scary of course, it’s just really scary.”

“What scares me is that I’m really not finding a way and usually I’m pretty good at bouncing back, whether it’s from a loss or something else,” he said. “A lot of losses have always motivated me – just right now it’s not happening.”

His girlfriend, Nicole Scherzinger, was there for him when he lost the important matches. They were spotted together on a sweet date after he lost at the first round of French Open this year.

“They have been plagued with split rumours in recent months,” reports the Daily Mail. “Yet Nicole Scherzinger and Grigor Dimitrov truly silenced their critics as they put on an extremely cosy display during a trip to Paris on Sunday. The 37-year-old former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman jetted to the French capital to watch her beau, 25, play in the French Open Roland Garros — a match he sadly lost.”

They also got themselves to London to watch some West End musicals, in hopes that this diversion would help Grigor get his mood back up.

But it looks like Nicole Scherzinger wants and needs a different kind of support back from her young boyfriend. A source told Daily Mail that she is becoming more and more interested in settling down and starting a family.

“Nicole is at a different stage in life to Grigor,” the source said. “She really likes him but wants to settle down – something he’s not quite ready for. It’s the situation she had with Lewis, which is why the relationship stalled. She’s aware she is not getting any younger and wants kids.”

But with Rio Olympics just a few days away, Grigor Dimitrov is probably focusing on his career, not so much what Nicole is doing in Greece.
