‘The Bachelorette:’ Could Villain Chad Johnson Be The Next Bachelor?

Chad Johnson is throwing his hat into the ring to become the next Bachelor after his eyebrow-raising appearance on season 12 of The Bachelorette.

Chad admitted that he believes he should become the next star of The Bachelor in a pretty surprising move during August 1’s The Bachelorette: After The Final Rose taping, which came after he failed to find love with Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher and then caused a whole lot of drama on the spinoff Bachelor In Paradise.

People is reporting that Chad told host Chris Harrison that he wanted to be the star of season 21 of The Bachelor after it was revealed on the big finale that JoJo had found love with Jordan Rodgers, where Chad even admitted that despite his drama on the show he believes he “deserves love.”

According to the site, Chad interrupted the Bachelorette: After The Final Rose special to announce his hopes to take a turn as the Bachelor, as well as taking his time in the spotlight to attempt to defend his violent and aggressive behavior on The Bachelorette and the upcoming season of Bachelor In Paradise.

“There’s probably a lot of people out there that think I’m a bad guy because of the way that I was on the show. When they watch Bachelor in Paradise, it’ll probably only be amplified,” Chad admitted during the Bachelorette finale, just hours after he tweeted out that he would appear on the show and has “sources” and “dirt” on his former competitors.

“I made some mistakes. I’ve been through a lot this last year, I lost my mom,” Chad then continued during the post-Bachelorette finale special. “One of the things they didn’t show on the show is I’m also a Marine. I think that a lot to of people, they deserve love.”

Chad Johnson then officially told Harrison then he wanted to be season 21’s Bachelor, admitting, “I think I deserve love. So I think maybe I deserve to be the next Bachelor.”

Chad’s The Bachelor confession, unsurprisingly, didn’t get a warm reaction from the crowd in the Bachelorette: After The Final Rose studio, to which Harrison told Johnson, “I feel it’s mixed emotions as best.”

A slew of social media users also chimed in on Chad’s request to become the next Bachelor on Twitter, which also had some pretty mixed responses.

“Chad: Imma let you finish, but I’d be the best Bachelor of all time #TheBachelorette,” Twitter user @casers92 tweeted out after Chad made it known that he wanted to be in the running to become the next Bachelor.

“Chad as Bachelor would be maybe one of the finest, most entertaining seasons of reality TV that has ever existed. #TheBachelorette” @PattiMurin added, and social media user @CriminelleLaw added, “I would 4000% watch Chad as The Bachelor. #TheBachelorette.”

However, other social media users weren’t quite so convinced about the possibility of Chad becoming the next Bachelor.

“NEVER would I watch a season of Chad as the Bachelor. N E V E R,” The Bachelorette fan @NIKKKolodean tweeted out about the possibility of Johnson becoming the next Bachelor, and @elliestafforddd wrote, “IF CHAD IS THE BACHELOR I WILL NEVER WATCH THE SHOW AGAIN.”

But it wasn’t all negative responses for Chad as Bustle even claimed following JoJo’s pick that they felt Chad was “the real hero” of season 12 of The Bachelorette through his outrageous and villain-like behavior.

“Chad entertained us because he brought a different worldview to the show,” the site claimed, adding that the just concluded season of The Bachelorette was “so boring” once JoJo dramatically sent Chad home.

ABC is yet to officially reveal who will be taking on the role of Bachelor for season 21 of the reality dating show, but would you like to see The Bachelorette villain Chad Johnson be the next Bachelor?
