Nick Jonas Upset At VMAs Snub, Finds Comfort In Demi Lovato, Joe Jonas On Nick’s Solo Success

Nick Jonas had to give himself a special pep talk after MTV announced this year’s nominations for the Video Music Awards. According to E! Online, Nick Jonas was disappointed after his MTV Video Music Awards snub.

On the afternoon that MTV announced the nominations, it was revealed that Beyoncé led the pack with 11 nominations for her latest album, Lemonade. Adele, Ariana Grande, and Drake also received at least four nominations each.

But one of the many talented artists that did not receive any recognition for a great year of music was Nick Jonas. Nick took to Twitter to express his sadness over the news, saying that he was disappointed with the fact that Close received no love at the VMAs this year. After the tweet, Nick Jonas was reminded of the good things in his career and expressed gratitude, tweeting that he will not let this one setback pull him down, especially since he had been feeling both inspired and grateful lately.

Throughout the summer, Nick has been traveling around America on tour with Demi Lovato. The “Good Girls” singer spoke on touring with Demi Lovato for the Honda Civic Tour, expressing happiness and excitement about their wonderful working relationship.

“We’re great friends, but on top of that, we are great collaborators and business partners so to create a show that really showcases the growth in both of our careers is going to be really exciting.”

One of the secrets of the long lasting friendship between Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato lies with Demi having to approve of Nick’s girlfriends, according to Just Jared.

One of Nick’s girlfriends that did not get Demi’s approval was Olivia Culpo. Nick and Olivia dated for about two years before breaking up in June of 2015. After breaking up with Olivia, Demi was the third person that Nick Jonas called to tell about his relationship breakdown, after his father and brother Joe Jonas. Apparently, Demi was fine with the idea of Nick no longer dating Olivia, saying that she had never liked her anyway. According to the “Unhinged” singer, Demi had not been in favor of the relationship, not because Olivia was not a nice person, but because she felt that Nick deserved someone who could make him laugh and someone that could match his sense of humor.

Nick and Demi became good friends during the filming of Camp Rock as she was dating his brother, Joe Jonas, at the time. Although the relationship eventually ended, Demi still remains close to the Jonas brothers. Joe sees Nick and Demi as siblings, according to Billboard.

Over the years, Nick and Demi have found each other to be a great source of guidance and support on personal matters, and they also lean on each other creatively. The success of Nick Jonas over the years as a solo artist has inspired his brother Joe, who expressed how proud he is of Nick. Joe even admitted that he was initially envious of his brother when he first “catapulted” into his “personal success,” which is something that Joe was also trying to achieve at the time. On the other hand, he admits that he can understand why his brother Nick Jonas has found so much success in the industry.

“Nick’s always creative – his favorite hang time is in the studio. We’ll be on vacation and he’ll be writing songs. He doesn’t turn that switch off.”

Apparently, when the Jonas brothers were in the midst of their success as a group, Nick Jonas would be enjoying the hard work and the long hours, while his brothers were more focused on “getting through it,” rather than enjoying the ride.

In the end, Nick Jonas’s brother is able to admit that it’s their personality differences that have enabled the “Don’t Make Me Choose” singer to become so successful as a solo artist.

“He’s stronger in ways than I am. The dude will do a tour, then go shoot a movie. I’m like, ‘Okay, now where’s vacation?'”
