‘The Division’ Updates On PS4 With ‘Underground’ DLC After Month-Long Exclusivity

Agents of The Division clearing New York of Rikers, Cleaners, LMB, and Rioters on PlayStation 4 can now head underground for a chance at new loot. The first piece of paid downloadable content for the game is now available on the platform a month after its initial release on Xbox One and PC. PlayStation 4 players now have access to the Underground DLC if they purchased it separately or as part of The Division season pass.

After a brief server maintenance period, noted on the official forums, The Division on PlayStation 4 is now live with Underground content ready to be played. With the maintenance complete, PlayStation 4 players can now sign back into the game and start traversing randomized Underground missions. Players can head to the Terminal, where the entrance to the Underground is located, to start the new missions.

Delve underneath the city alone or with up to four other agents to collect loot and raise the new Underground Rank. Disable or avoid traps while hunting down specific targets or rescuing lost JTF squads. Before players set out on their missions, they can choose the operation’s difficulty, number of phases, and Directives. Directives are a way to ensure better loot at the end of the mission. However, they create more difficult scenarios within the operation.

Additionally, new gear sets, a new Incursion, and more are now available alongside the new, repeatable Underground missions. PlayStation 4 players can now find four new gear sets thanks to the DLC, including the B.L.I.N.D. set, the DeadEYE set, the FireCrest set, and the Reclaimer set. As explained on the Ubisoft Blog, these sets can enhance a player in a number of ways. The B.L.I.N.D. set improves a character’s flashbang capabilities, while the DeadEYE set increases headshot strength. The FireCrest set lets a player focus on setting enemies on fire, and the Reclaimer set lets players support their allies with powerful buffs.

Coordinated teams will find another new challenge in the latest Incursion called Dragon’s Nest. This Incursion, located in Hell’s Kitchen, pits players against a number of Cleaners who are working on a new weapon to aid them in cleansing New York. “There is a secret war going on in the uncharted and claustrophobic depths of Manhattan. Root out the threat and earn unique rewards. Explore the Underground of New York in solo play or up to four player co-op.”

Developer Massive Entertainment continues to update Tom Clancy’s The Division with both DLC and regular patches. In fact, a recent update just released days ago improving the loot distributed in Underground content. As The Inquisitr reported, Underground missions can now reward gear set pieces from all patches instead of only those from Patch 1.3. Players can now loot gear sets introduced in Patches 1.1 and 1.2 by completing Underground missions. Not to mention, players can now find all weapon types within sealed caches from the DLC as well.

With Underground released on all platforms, players of The Division can expect the next expansion soon. Survival is expected to release before the summer is over; but PlayStation 4 players will have to wait at least 30 days after its release again. Each piece of paid DLC for The Division will appear first on Xbox One and PC due to an exclusivity deal with Microsoft.

Survival appears to test agents’ ability to endure with minimal provisions after a storm ravages the area. The E3 2016 teaser trailer for Survival wraps up by showing a heavily armored character adorned with agent watches. Be sure to check out the teaser for Survival below. Until then, all players of The Division can either continue or start their adventures in the Underground DLC right now.
