Melissa Gorga On Joe’s Lack Of Support: Was He Being Dramatic For The ‘RHONJ’ Cameras?

Melissa Gorga had plenty of time off from The Real Housewives of New Jersey as the Bravo production team decided to put the show on a break while Teresa Giudice was serving her time behind bars. The producers wanted to wait for Teresa, but there were plenty of reasons why the show could continue without Teresa on the show. Amber Marchese campaigned to get the show back on television, and Melissa would have been ready to jump at the chance to film the show again, but Bravo decided to take a longer break. During the break, Gorga decided to start her own business, and she’s now opening her own store, Envy.

According to a new Bravo report, Melissa Gorga is now revealing what she thinks about her husband’s lack of support. Joe Gorga wasn’t exactly the most supportive husband as he kept saying that he would prefer to have her in their home making food and taking care of the children. And when he tried to work at home with the kids around, he called Melissa in a panic, asking her to drop her plans for the store so she could be at home with the kids. As it turns out, Melissa Gorga feels that Joe was overreacting. Rather than get upset about the lack of support, she merely calls him dramatic.

“I laughed out loud seeing Joe handle the kids while I was at work. I think it’s safe to say he was being a little dramatic! Sending the kids outside when our backyard was completely under construction –- dirt piles and all — wasn’t the best idea,” Melissa Gorga reveals in her Bravo blog, sharing that Joe was acting out instead of trying to handle the situation.

Of course, Gorga has been working hard on opening her store. She has previously explained that she’s funding everything in regards to the store, and she even hired her husband to do work for her. She didn’t take his skills for granted, and she hired his team to complete some renovations. So, when she was finally ready to launch the store, it was a proud moment for her. According to US Weekly, Gorga did ask her husband to be a man and take responsibility for his kids while she was working. And Melissa Gorga was super excited to watch the episode last night as she hosted a launch party for The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast.

“This episode was a proud moment for me –- Envy is now open! After months of hard work, I am so excited you were able to see how the boutique turned out. I wanted to prove to myself that I can do it all as a mom, wife and now business owner. I could not be more thankful and appreciative of Joe and of the girls for coming out to show their support. The opening was a huge success! I guess it is true, dog poop is good luck,” Melissa Gorga explains in her blog for The Real Housewives of New Jersey, sharing that she wanted to prove herself to her husband and her friends.

Of course, her husband would still prefer to have her at home, but she doesn’t seem too eager to return home as a full-time housewife. Her children may be closer to the age where they have to go to school full-time, so she can spend that time at the store, working hard to make it a success. And Gorga knows what she’s risking by being away from her kids.

“The relationship between a parent and their children is so emotional and we saw that throughout this episode. Watching Teresa struggle as she read about being away from her daughters was so hard. And seeing how emotional my sisters get when they think about our dad missing these moments is heartbreaking,” Melissa Gorga reveals in her Bravo blog.
