CNN’s Anderson Cooper Beats Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly And Megyn Kelly In The Ratings

Thanks to the Democrat National Convention, Anderson Cooper had an amazing ratings week with Anderson Cooper 360. When averaging nightly ratings from Showbuzz Daily Anderson Cooper’s weekly ratings average was higher than those of Bill O’Reilly and Megyn Kelly for the first time in his career. This past week, Anderson averaged 3.68 million viewers a night.

“In this hall tonight, the Democrats are sealing Hillary Clinton’s nomination and celebrating the groundbreaking moment with a dramatic show of party unity. We saw Bernie sanders personally ask the party to approve Clinton’s nomination by acclamation,” Anderson noted, before indicating that this occurred after a roll call in which both Sanders and Clinton delegates publicly cast their votes.

Cooper than had a segment with CNN host Wolf Blitzer, who noted that after Donald Trump promised to be the law and order president, the Democrats were about to address the issues of race, crime, and justice.

On Fox News, Bill O’Reilly was slightly behind Anderson Cooper with an average of 3.56 million viewers a night. On Wednesday evening, O’Reilly, who was broadcasting live from the Democrat National Convention, aired an interview that he did with Donald Trump earlier in the day. The Fox News host first asked Donald Trump what he thought about Obama saying that his administration saved our country from a depression.

“No. We always have bad periods. They could have done things a lot differently and our recovery has been a very weak recovery. It’s the weakest recovery in history. It’s the weakest recovery on record,” Mr. Trump told Bill O’Reilly, before adding that jobless numbers are still high.

O’Reilly agreed that the nobody can deny how bad the numbers were for our economy, but eight years is enough time for economic recovery, and there hasn’t been as much of a change as there should be. Then, O’Reilly asked Trump about the minimum wage and how Sanders hammered him on that the night before.

“He lied about that last night. I never said I wanted to decrease the minimum wage,” Trump angrily told Bill, before indicating that each state should set its own minimum wage laws.

Trump believes that the minimum wage in a state such as New York, where the cost of living is much higher, should obviously be higher than other states. However, O’Reilly told Trump that there needs to be a national minimal wage. The Republican presidential candidate then said $10 should be the federal minimum wage, even though he wouldn’t want people to earn just $10 for very long. Trump said he would help that by bringing in more jobs.

Megyn Kelly Ratings Megyn Kelly didn’t match ratings for Bill O”Reilly or Anderson Cooper. [Photo by Neilson Barnard/Getty Images]Megyn Kelly, who attracted far less viewers than Bill O’Reilly or Anderson Cooper (2.93 million per night average), wasn’t as nice to Donald Trump. On her show Friday evening, Kelly said that the speech made the night before by the father of a fallen Muslim soldier could really end up hurting Trump.

There has been a lot of back-and-forth between Khizr Khan and Trump all weekend, with Khan basically telling Trump that he has a “black soul.” According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump took offense to Khan saying that Trump never knew what it was like to sacrifice anything. Trump eventually said that Khan’s son was a true hero and that he’s not against Muslims, but rather radical Islamic terrorists.

Megyn Kelly and Bill O’Reilly should be back on top of the ratings chart next week now that the DNC is over. However, nobody should ever count out Anderson Cooper as his ratings have been improving all year.
