‘General Hospital’ Lost Storylines — Will Fans Ever Get Closure?
General Hospital has left fans hanging a time or two in regards to storylines. The show has excellent writing and delivery, which was proven when they won a Daytime Emmy earlier this year. More recently, there have been a few storylines that seemed to have disappeared without any resolution. Fans have been wondering about certain characters, and finally have begun asking about them on social media. With all of the craziness happening on General Hospital, it isn’t surprising that some of the older mysteries are being talked about once again.
One of the biggest General Hospital storylines that disappeared was Rosalie’s (Linda Elena Tovar) secret. It was supposed to be something incredibly big, which is why Brad (Parry Shen) had to marry and remain married to her. There was speculation that it could have even been mob-related. The revelation that Rosalie was married to Brad was shocking, and it got viewers excited to learn more about what they were hiding. When Rosalie disappeared from Port Charles without much explanation and Brad mysteriously became divorced and able to marry Lucas (Ryan Carnes), fans began to ask questions. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, this isn’t the only storyline that General Hospital fans want closure with. It looks like Rosalie may be gone for good and her secret will stay buried like her character.
There was some hype that General Hospital would elaborate on the embryo storyline with Lulu (Emme Rylan) while they were on Cassadine Island. As it turns out, there was nothing discussed in regards to the situation at all. At one point, it was rumored that Lulu’s embryo was stolen and used with Cassadine sperm to repopulate the family. Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu have been discussing having another child, but it seems like the embryo may have never been in existence the way the writers are making it appear. Things on Cassadine Island have finished up, and they all left without Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) in tow. The storyline could be revisited, but it appears that the General Hospital writers have other things in mind for Dante and Lulu.
A few months ago, it was made to look like Franco (Roger Howarth) was stalking Jason (Billy Miller) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) on General Hospital. He seemed to be creeping around wherever the couple was, even having mud on his shoes when the stalker left muddy footprints after peeping in the window. It was a bizarre storyline, especially since it just abruptly ended without any notice. General Hospital fans had hopes of a confrontation between Franco and Jason, and one that would be intense. Without anything to follow up on, it appears this storyline was dropped without a second thought.
As far as things go with Nikolas and his death, General Hospital writers are still working out that storyline. Tyler Christopher was in contract talks for quite some time, which is why a recast was put in for a few weeks. News broke that Christopher decided to re-sign with General Hospital and should be back on the air sometime in August. While he urged fans to slow down a bit, it seems that everything is working out for his return to Port Charles. The writers had a huge out with Nikolas falling out of a window again, even at the point where they could have completely written him off. It appears that something will be written to reintegrate him back into the Port Charles scene, but it still won’t happen for another few weeks.
With all of the General Hospital storylines dropped without notice, there are some seriously confused fans walking around out there. It appears that the writers handled them without much thought, even though there would be questions from viewers. General Hospital isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, but the lack of closure for some storylines has really gotten old.
