‘Final Fantasy VII’ Remake: Is Square Enix Gearing Up For An Announcement?

It’s no secret that the Final Fantasy VII remake is on its way. However, Square Enix has been mostly silent about news regarding the highly-anticipated RPG.

The hype that surrounds Final Fantasy VII is undeniable. Considered by many to be the most successful Final Fantasy out of the series, fans have been adamant about wanting a remake to satisfy the nostalgia of Cloud and his battle against Shinra. Players are eager to take up the legendary buster sword again, but there’s been no discussion of when we’ll see the game released or at what interval fans will know more. Fortunately, it appears that Square Enix might be looking to change that.

In a report by Christian Today, it looks as though Square Enix might be preparing for a big announcement in regards to the Final Fantasy VII remake. It would make sense, as many fans and players have eyes on the upcoming RPG Final Fantasy XV that’s set to be released on September 30. With anticipation high and every day bringing us closer to the game’s release, Square Enix would be wise to take advantage of the coverage and score big with news regarding the return to Midgar.

There’s a small amount of information that we know about Final Fantasy VII and how Square Enix plans to release it. There will be episodes, each said to be the length of a full video game. There are some who are wary about this approach to the remake’s release, but Square assures fans that they will get a complete experience.

The report by Christian Today suggests that Square Enix would rather release information in huge amounts rather than small portions. Artist, designer, and director Tetsuo Nomura spoke on how Square Enix intends to bring out news regarding the Final Fantasy VII remake.

“We are currently getting specifics ready for the next information release, and just like we’ve done with KH2.8 this time, we plan to bring a whole lot out in one go instead of dribs and drabs, so please look forward to it. I am looking forward to the reveals myself,” Nomura stated.

With this in mind, Nomura is most likely hinting at an event that will hold all things Final Fantasy VII. Of course, this is all speculation based on how Square Enix is explaining its intentions on revealing more to the fans as time presses on. Still, this would be the perfect time to draw fans ever closer with the promise of shedding light on what we can expect with the remake. There’s also the matter of Kingdom Hearts 2.8 being released, bringing even more watchful eyes to Square Enix and its future.

Rumors, via news by Vine Report, have sparked about the Final Fantasy VII remake, namely that there might be a demo in the works for fans to enjoy. While some might consider it a stretch, Square Enix released the Final Fantasy XV demo alongside Final Fantasy Type-0. Is it out of the realm of possibility that we could get a taste of the Final Fantasy VII remake? Perhaps not. Hopes are high for RPG fans, but it also wouldn’t be wise to hold one’s breath on the matter.

Ultimately, any news on the remake for Final Fantasy VII will spark curiosity and anticipation. The dream of seeing Cloud battling Sephiroth with updated graphics may be in the wind, and eager fans will certainly want to keep an eye out for a possible release date.
