‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Spoilers: Prepare For Negan To Swear A Lot And Jeffrey Dean Morgan Is Not Ready For The Huge Twist

Jeffrey Dean Morgan made his debut on the season finale of The Walking Dead earlier this year as he introduced the world to Negan. After a few very tense moments, the cliffhanger faded to black and left everyone wondering who he would kill with his bat named Lucille. Now, Morgan is speaking about the upcoming season, a possible huge twist for his character, and the ability to swear and say “f**k” as much as he possibly can.

Please let it be known that there are possible spoilers ahead for the upcoming season and comic book of The Walking Dead. If you don’t want to know them, stop reading now.

AMC can only allow certain words to be said by Negan and the others on The Walking Dead due to censorship and all of that. Upon buying the DVD or Blu-ray, the rest are likely to be heard since there is a lot more freedom for those in the world of the Walkers.

Entertainment Weekly spoke with Jeffrey Dean Morgan regarding his character and the things he is able to say while filming. There are some very big things coming in Season 7, and he is trying to make them as true to comic book life as possible.

In making his version of Negan as honorable to the graphic novel version of the character, Morgan wants to talk just like him. So, during filming, he first recites his lines in the way they are written and in a toned down version. After that, he brings about the true sense and style of the villainous bat-wielding madman.

“We push it as far as what I can and can’t say. I’ll throw in sh**s and hells and Jesus Christs and Godd**ns everywhere I can, but even that there’s a limit to. Then they turn me loose. Someone will say, ‘Okay, it’s time.’ That’s all I need to know. That’s when I just go f***ing nuts and I’ll add all the f***s and all the original Negan language. So I memorize it two ways: I learn what’s okay for TV and then I learn the Negan way, which is nothing barred. And I will add every f***, f***ing, f***edy f***, and more, just to f***ing get a reaction.”

While he’s ready for all of the swearing that he can possibly get out of his character, ComicBook says that Jeffrey Dean Morgan is ready for so much more. Apparently, he reads the graphic novel and keeps up with what his drawn counterpart is doing.

He is a huge fan of all that is going on in the comic book and especially the recently revealed beheading of Alpha in a major twist. This is leading to the possible good-guy-turn of Negan, and Morgan simply isn’t sure he’s prepared for that.

“That I’m not ready for. I don’t think he’ll go good but the Alpha thing was pretty sweet. It was f***ing great.”

There are those fans who think this is Negan’s way of turning into a good guy and trying to join forces with Rick and the survivors. Morgan is obviously hoping that isn’t what will come about for the character he plays so well on TV.

For now, Season 7 isn’t at the point of dealing with that storyline, but there is much more happening this fall on The Walking Dead. It’s hard to forget that Ezekiel and Shiva are bringing The Kingdom into things and that is going to change the entire dynamic of the show as well.

Season 7 of The Walking Dead is already building up to be one of the biggest in the history of the franchise. Negan is going to be around full-time, a major death will take place in the season premiere, and there is always the possibility of that big twist. It’s hard to forget about the arrival of The Kingdom and other newcomers as well. That’s where all the fun is coming into play as Jeffrey Dean Morgan swears his way into the hearts of the fans.
