Watch Tottenham Hotspur Vs. Atletico Madrid Stream Live: International Champions Cup Showdown Down Under

Tottenham is coming off a 2-1 defeat to Italian champions Juventus earlier this week, while Atletico Madrid — runners up to their crosstown rival Real Madrid in the 2015-2016 UEFA Champions League — will be making their first, and last, appearance in the 2016 International Champions Cup.

Manager Diego Simeone’s side has just one preseason friendly match under their collective belt, defeating Numancia 2-0.

For Tottenham, who play only one more preseason friendly — facing Italian Serie A side Inter Milan on August 5 — the showdown with Atletico Madrid will be a stern test as Spurs prepare to enter Champions League play for the first time since 2010.

But that was a completely different Tottenham side, managed by Harry Redknapp and led by a young, rising star full back named Gareth Bale. Heading into the 2016-2017 Premier League and Champions League campaigns, the team is piloted by Argentine Manager Mauricio Pochetino, who led Spurs to their highest league finish since their fourth-place season got them into the Champions League six years ago.

The team’s star this time around is prolific, 23-year-old striker Harry Kane, a native of North London who grew up a Spurs fan.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. Australian Eastern Standard Time at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, Australia, on Friday, July 29. For fans in the United Kingdom, the match gets underway at 11 a.m. British Summer Time. In the United States, viewers can log into the live stream at 6 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time, 3 a.m. Pacific.

Simeone, who like Pocchetino also hails from Argentina, says that his team has moved on from the devastating penalty kicks loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final, not even two months ago, on May 28.

“I never spoke of the feelings I had,” Simeone said at a press conference this week in Australia. “They were difficult to explain. The loss was like a death and after any death you must have a period of mourning. But that period is now over.”
