Susan Sarandon is an openly left-leaning celebrity, and the actress has never shied away from explaining her unvarnished beliefs on the subject of politics — so it’s probably no surprise the activist star is no big fan of Mitt Romney.
I mean, it’s Susan Sarandon, but is anyone a fan of Mitt Romney? Maybe like five people on Facebook and he probably bought them.
Still, Mitt Romney’s campaign is suffering a few setbacks, and it’s hard to not feel sorry for the dude even if you think him winning the election would be a disaster and a half. And Susan Sarandon is definitely experiencing a bit of schadenfraude here, as Romney’s campaign hits a few major setbacks — on the TV show The View, the Dead Man Walking star said that the GOP candidate’s flubs were keeping her amused as she followed along at home, even at she wasn’t surprised at the revelations in the Mitt Romney secret video:
“I’m so entertained! I’m very happy that he’s so entertaining. I don’t know if it’s going to cost him. I think a lot of people agree with him in seeing things that way. I guess it’ll mostly effect the swing voters. And I think it’s an interesting few days on the campaign trail to see how he deals with that. But I don’t think that was really new information.”
In response, Joy Behar described Romney as Scrooge-like, to which Sarandon replied:
“But I think that’s what he is … I don’t think — listening to, you know, where he wants to spend his money, that he was very interested in education or the elderly and I mean a lot of the people he’s talking about pay taxes so I don’t know what he’s thinking.”
Have you been enjoying Romney’s recent campaign setbacks, or are you a Mitt supporter?
