Melania Trump Biography Scrubbed From The Internet Amidst Growing Questions

Perhaps taking cover under the Democrats’ big-tent event as the DNC is in full swing, Melania Trump’s questionable biography has quietly been removed from the internet.

As Huffington Post reports, the disappearance of Melania Trump’s professional website has been scrubbed from the internet just days after media began to openly question whether Trump truly earned an undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Ljubljana, which is located in Trump’s native Slovenia.

While her online biography stated that she did have an undergraduate degree, a book published about her life earlier this year stated that, although she did attend the university for a year, she left in order to pursue her career in modelling.

This is how her educational history and background are handled in Melania Trump ? The Inside Story: From a Slovenian Communist Village to the White House.

“In her freshman year, the 19-year old [Melania Knauss] attended lectures on the following subjects: elements of architecture, fine arts, fundamentals of technical mechanics, architectural construction, descriptive geometry, mathematics, and an ideological (read “communist”) elective credit called ‘General Partisan Resistance and Social Self-protection.’ [Melania] would have made it to her sophomore year, even having failed 2 exams, but she was supposed to have gotten and held a 1-month internship and kept a journal about it.”

Her professional website stated differently.

“Born on April 26, 1970, Melania Knauss began her modelling career at the age of sixteen. At the age of eighteen, she signed with a modeling agency in Milan. After obtaining a degree in design and and architecture at University in Slovenia, Melania was jetting between photo shoots in Paris and Milan, finally settling in New York in 1996.”

It was this passage that received such scrutiny in the days following her disastrous speech at the Republican National Convention, which included a segment that came, word-for-word, from an earlier speech First Lady Michelle Obama. The undeniable act of plagiarism and subsequent denials led to questions about whether Melania Trump had lied about anything else.

The author the unauthorized biography Melania Trump: The Inside Story believes the obvious embellishment of Melania Trump’s education was all done at the behest of Trump and his advisers, who wanted to present a more accomplished potential First Lady.

“Later, in America, after meeting Donald Trump and officially becoming his partner, Melania Knauss told the media that she got her degree in architecture and design. This was almost certainly done in consultation with Trump and his advisors, as they were desperate to give off the impression that the Slovenian model was not just beautiful, but also smart and well-educated.”

Slovenian journalists Bojan Pozar and Igor Omerza wrote in their biography on the former fashion model that Melania “became — and remained — a college dropout” after leaving the University to pursue her modelling career, Huffington Post reported.

A Trump campaign spokeswoman declined to either confirm or deny that Melania Trump had earned a degree from the university when pressed about the subject, which quickly created further doubt and speculation on if Melania Trump’s online biography was embellished or fabricated.

There has been no official comment from the Trump campaign regarding the now-deleted website, www.melaniatrump.com, which now redirects to a home page for husband Donald Trump’s golf resorts and rental properties. And even on that website, the biography section makes no mention of Donald’s wife Melania, and, archived pages of this professional site indicate that this is not new. The businessman’s online biography hasn’t referenced his wife for at least five years.

Even Donald Trump’s presidential campaign biography references Melania Trump simply once, and does not provide any personal details about her life, background, education, or qualifications. Instead, it simply states that Trump, the Republican nominee for president, is “is married to Melania Trump and father to Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany and Barron.”
