Selena Gomez Turns Against Taylor Swift After Getting Dissed About Weight & Justin Bieber?

Does bad blood exist between Selena Gomez and her “Bad Blood” singer best friend Taylor Swift? Problems in their friendship are reportedly linked to two issues, involving Taylor criticizing Selena for her weight and selection of boyfriends such as Justin Bieber.

And it’s not just Selena who has reportedly turned against Taylor, but the singer’s entire girl squad, which has “revolted” according to In Touch‘s report, which Gossip Cop investigated.

“Some in her squad are talking about how relieved they are that the real Taylor is being exposed,” an insider told In Touch.

In particular, Selena is described as struggling with problems in her friendship with Swift, resulting in a relationship that runs “hot and cold.” The insider also alleged that Gomez discovered that Taylor had thrown shade at her, focusing on her weight as well as her romantic history with guys.

“Selena recently found out some pretty horrible stuff Taylor has said about her, including about her weight and choice of boyfriends.”

However, amid the explosion between Swift versus Kanye West and Kim Kardashian on social media, it was Gomez who proved loyal, defending her friend.

In public, Selena has shown no signs of turning against Taylor, pointed out Latina.

After Kim shared the infamous video clips in which Kanye had a dialogue with Swift about the lyrics referring to her in “Famous,” Gomez was quick to use Twitter to defend her pal.

“There are more important things to talk about… Why can’t people use their voice for something that f*cking matters?” tweeted Selena.

The singer also urged that everyone stop the hate.

“Truth is last thing we need right now is hate, in any form.”

As for the allegation that Swift has thrown shade at Gomez over her weight and boyfriends, and that not just Selena but Taylor’s entire girl squad has turned against her, Cosmopolitan points out that the friendship between Swift and her squad (including Selena) has endured for years.

Gomez and Swift met backstage at a concert featuring the Jonas Brothers in 2008. It was divide-and-conquer with the brothers but not with their fast friendship, because Selena was dating Nick, while Taylor had teamed up with Joe.

The friendship with Gomez as well as with other female pals was revealed in October 2012, when Swift dropped her third album, Red. The “secret messages” included a reference to her girl squad: “ASHLEY DIANNA CLAIRE SELENA” (Gomez, Glee star Dianna Agron, stylist Ashley Avignone, and Claire Winter Kislinger).

Signs of trouble among the squad didn’t surface until the blow-up over West and Kardashian versus Swift. Although Selena tweeted her support, most of Taylor’s squad remained silent.

As for the claims that Swift has secretly been dissing Gomez for her weight? Selena has stated that she has been shamed about her weight, but did not specifically name Taylor as one of those involved in the fat-shaming.

Last year, Selena credited some of her new songs to going through the experience of being dissed about her weight, reported Us Weekly.

“I was getting a lot of hate for my body and ‘you’re gaining weight,’ and so I was in Mexico and I was just feeling all of this stuff and I would be lying to you if I said it didn’t kind of hurt my feelings, but I kind of channeled that into my music,” shared the singer.

Among the songs that Selena revealed were inspired by the body-shaming are “Survivors,” “Kill Em With Kindness,” and “Rise.”

And with regard to the allegation that Gomez learned Taylor was secretly dissing her for her choice of boyfriends? Swift hasn’t really tried to hide her distaste for Justin Bieber, who continues to rank high on the list of Selena’s romances.

Justin and Taylor have feuded for years, and Swift made a point of throwing shade at him earlier this year when he performed at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, pointed out ET.

Taylor offered up one or two perfunctory claps, then focused on her drink rather than Bieber, showing that Justin remains on her “Bad Blood” enemy list. Even during the periods of time when Selena and Bieber seemed to be rekindling their romance, Swift has been against it.

But that battle between Taylor and Gomez over Justin is not new. Back in 2013, Us Weekly was reporting that every time Selena reunited with Bieber, Swift became upset.

“Taylor hates him. She thinks Selena makes a mistake every time she reconciles with him,” a source told Us Weekly. “Bieber has really come between the girls.”

But fast-forward three years and despite those rumors of a girl squad backlash, Swift and Gomez are keeping their friendship strong. As the Inquisitr reported, after maintaining a social media silence since her post about the leaked conversation with Kanye regarding his “Famous” song lyrics, Taylor returned to Instagram just to celebrate Selena’s birthday.

Gomez’s best friend shared a sweet throwback photo showing them posing in a way to show their heartfelt love for each other.

“Going through old pictures today, because @selenagomez just turned 24! I can’t imagine my life without you, Selena. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” wrote Swift for the caption.
