‘Counting On’ Season 2 Premiere Date Released

Jill & Jessa: Counting On fans, the news you have been waiting for has finally arrived. TLC has finally announced a premiere date for Season 2 of Jill & Jessa: Counting On. Not only that, but it also appears they have finally come to the conclusion that “Jill & Jessa: Counting On” is a bit of a mouthful and have renamed the show.

Did you miss the announcement? Well, so did we, because once again, TLC decided to hide the information about the Season 2 premiere within another story. People announced today that Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo are officially engaged, not just courting. Talk about a short courtship! The pair were only courting for a month before Jeremy announced he had popped the big question, and Jinger said, “Yes!” It appears a large portion of the Duggar family traveled to New York to be part of the proposal.

Jinger and Jeremy shared during their interview with People that they are thankful for all the support they received during their courtship.

“From both of us, thank you all for the countless well-wishes we’ve received during the courtship. We are so excited to take this next step in spending our lives together. We are so grateful for how the Lord has brought us together. It has been an incredible journey so far and we are excited about serving Christ together in the coming days.”

The People article felt a bit like déjà vu when it came to the announcement of the Season 2 premiere date. Just like the announcement that Jill & Jessa: Counting On had been renewed for a second season was hidden in the last sentence of the People article announcing Jinger and Jeremy’s courtship, the announcement of the official premiere date was also hidden in the last sentence of the People article announcing Jinger and Jeremy’s engagement.

“The couple’s courtship will be a big part of the new season of Counting On when it returns to TLC Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. ET.”

As for the name change, Jill & Jessa: Counting On will now just be known as Counting On. Besides being a mouthful, it seems like the name change also hints that the show will be focusing on a lot more than just Jill and Jessa. As shared in the People article, Jinger and Jeremy’s courtship is going to be a main focus of this season. Several of the older Duggar sisters are quickly growing up and it’s hard to imagine TLC won’t start incorporating them into the show as well, as they started to do in Season 1. Last season featured a lot of Jana, Jinger, and Joy in addition to Jill and Jessa.

With all fingers crossed, we hope that Counting On will have more luck producing footage than they did in Season 1. Many fans were growing tired of the constant recap clips they used as filler for the show. It seems likely TLC will also do everything they can to avoid any backlash involving Josh Duggar. They have already confirmed he will not be part of this season of Counting On, but it remains to be seen if he will be talked about on Season 2 like he was on Season 1.

Are you excited to finally have an official date you can plan to sit back and relax for a night of Counting On? Do you expect Season 2 will run into the same problem as Season 1 and be packed with flashbacks from the previous season and 19 Kids and Counting? Are you looking forward to watching Jinger and Jeremy’s courtship? Leave your feedback in the comments section below and tune in for the Season 2 premiere of Counting On on Tuesday, August 23, at 8/7c on TLC.
