Florida Georgia Line Responds To Allegations Of Being Anti-Police

Hit country group Florida Georgia Line has been dealing with a bit of backlash after reports came out that the duo could be anti-police. Right now, a lot of people are supporting the police and don’t take lightly to someone that doesn’t feel the same way as them. TMZ shared that the duo banned officers from their concert, according to an Iowa Sheriff. Jones County Sheriff Greg Graver tells TMZ he was headed backstage Saturday night at the Great Jones County Fair. His plan was to talk to them about protocol, but instead, he was informed that officers in uniform couldn’t go backstage at all. A crew member told him that this was per the band, but he never actually talked to Florida Georgia Line about it.

Jones County Sheriff Greg Graver shared that after this concert at the Great Jones County Fair, Florida Georgia Line asked for an escort from police, but that didn’t go over well at all. Graver went on to say that he wouldn’t help them because he wouldn’t spend “one tax dollar assisting them.” Instead, they ended up leaving on their own and were not able to get any police department to escort them.

Taste of Country shared that Florida Georgia Line is now speaking out and their side of the story is totally different. This report shares that on July 22 they were at Country Thunder when this happened as well. Florida Georgia Line allegedly said they didn’t want law enforcement backstage, but Country Thunder management denied the request. Other concert venues could end up coming out now that this news has been released. The Boot was able to get in touch with Florida Georgia Line, but they refused to give a statement other than what they shared on their Facebook page.

“Hey guys, we’ve just been made aware something happened at a show this weekend involving a police officer. We want you to know that we have nothing but love and respect for the police. We are bummed anyone ever got a different impression. – BK & T.”

Florida Georgia Line doesn’t have any plans to stay anything else about their thoughts on police officers. The thing is they are losing a lot of fans over this, and if it continues to happen, it could get worse for them. They posted a simple post on their Facebook page, and people are going crazy on it explaining that they don’t like Florida Georgia Line anymore. Facebook user Nanook DeGennaro posted about how this could ruin their careers.

“FGL… You’re a bunch of clueless and unappreciative a**hats!!! Many of country musics core fans are Americas Law Enforcement Officers and their supporters, families and friends!!!Your latest treatment of LEO’s and the noble profession it encompasses will send you down the road of the Dixie Chicks career years ago!!”

“Shame On You….”

This post already has over 160 likes, and a lot of people agree with his thoughts. Florida Georgia Line is losing some fans over these anti-police comments, and it will be interesting to see if their career ends up changing because of it. Florida Georgia Line is going to have to do a lot of damage control. This duo has been very successful, but now they will have to get some fans to trust them again.
