Kristen Bell Shares Wedding Photos?, Talks ?Dax Shepard’s?? Past Addiction

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard were married in 2013, and the ceremony was nothing over the top or extravagant. In fact, it was rather small and quiet compared to a number of other celebrity weddings. Bell and Shepard kept things simple, doing away with all of the glitz and glamour, and had a courthouse ceremony in Beverly Hills. The Veronica Mars actress recently decided to share this day with her fans for the very first time.

Kristen Bell’s wedding photos show the happy couple at their cheap $142 wedding, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Dax Shepard told Jimmy Kimmel that he was very happy about the low cost of their wedding. Shepard went to Kimmel’s wedding before he and Bell tied the knot, and he decided to keep things simple after seeing all of the money spent during Jimmy Kimmel’s 2013 wedding to Molly McNeary.

“Not that I was counting your money, but I was counting your money at this thing, ’cause it was flying out the windows, they were setting it on fire. I made a mental note when I watched that. I thought, ‘I’m gonna go a different route.'”

As it turns out, the cost of Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s wedding didn’t include the wedding cake, because they got that for free. Someone at the clerk’s office thought it would be a nice gesture to deliver a special cake for the newlyweds after the two actors exchanged their vows. The cake even had a hilarious message written on it: “The World’s Worst Wedding.”

Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell may have done something that no other Hollywood couple has accomplished.

“How many people can say they threw ‘The World’s Worst Wedding’?” Dax humorously asked Kimmel.

Kristen is also very happy with how it all went down.

“We got married in a tiny room in the Beverly Hills courthouse, and it was still one of the best days of my life,” Bell told CBS News.

The Frozen actress went on to say that if she were on her deathbed, her family is going to be what she’s thinking about. She became very emotional talking about her husband and praising him for being such a good father. Dax was also able to pull his life together and become sober after a serious battle with drugs and alcohol.

“He knows the value of things. He was an addict for many, many years and he pulled himself out of it, and he’s been sober for 11, 12 years now…. And he knows how many times he’s messed up and how many times he’s been really closing to losing everything.”

Dax Shepard’s addiction included pills, opiates, and marijuana. But the actor hard a really hard time breaking away from cocaine and Jack Daniel’s, admitting that he could’ve ended up in jail because of it.

“Kristen’s a good girl,” Shepard said, talking about his past. “All the things I’d done were terrifying to her, and she had a hard time believing I would ever be able to stay married and monogamous and a father and all those things. For the first year and a half we were together, that was what we battled over almost weekly.”

But now, their marriage is doing much better. Bell has said that couples therapy has been a tremendous help in their marriage life. Shepard admits that Kristen was much more of an optimist than he was when they first got together, and there were things that they did not trust about each other that they were going to have to get over.
