Newest ‘Suicide Squad’ Supertrailer Completely Enthralled Comic-Con! [Video]

Fans of the legendary rock band Queen may have been upset with Donald Trump using “We Are The Champions” at the RNC, but they’ll love the fact that “Bohemian Rhapsody” can be found in the newest Suicide Squad supertrailer, which completely enthralled the attendees at San Diego Comic-Con!

Suicide Squad supertrailer: Spoilers ahead?

The entire cast was on hand for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con to debut the Suicide Squad supertrailer. The movie is set to be released on August 4. In the Suicide Squad supertrailer, we’re treated to more images of Oscar-winner Jared Leto playing the Joker and Margot Robbie playing his love interest of sorts, Harley Quinn.

Indeed, according to High Snobiety, this Suicide Squad supertrailer is the best footage released so far. Since this movie was first announced, we’ve been treated to a wide variety of character profiles, behind-the-scenes videos, and promotional sizzle reels in a variety of platforms. And the licensing following this Suicide Squad supertrailer is going to be just as intense, with clothes, posters, and comic books being just a few of the many premiums being offered to Marvel’s loyal enthusiasts.

Even though the Suicide Squad supertrailer has a lot to live up to, star Margot Robbie recently told the Mirror that she’s not too worried about the effects it will have on her career. With her breakthrough performance in the film, as well as her role in the upcoming Legend of Tarzan film, Robbie has been making quite the name for herself in Hollywood, and she even fancies herself as a bit of a feminist hero.

“Whatever everyone did in this film, I did in a pair of heels,” she said.

But she was also quick to bring herself back down to Earth when she was talking to the attendees of San Diego Comic-Con while unleashing the new Suicide Squad supertrailer.

“There’s a thing in Australia called tall poppy syndrome. People are really happy for you to do well, you just can’t do better than everyone else or they will cut you down to size,” she said.

Meanwhile, Robbie’s co-star Jared Leto, who first came to prominence in the pop culture zeitgeist when he played the mopey Jordan Catalano on the 1990s teenage drama My So-Called Life, also made a splash during the premiere of the Suicide Squad supertrailer. Billboard Magazine notes that Leto was happy to take pictures with — and of — fans who were there to see him tear it up as the Joker.

There’s no doubt that no one can take the place of the late Heath Ledger, whose role as the Joker won him a posthumous Oscar, making it the first superhero film to ever receive the highest honor in Hollywood. However, Leto proves in the new Suicide Squad trailer that he can more than hold his own as Batman’s archnemesis — and have a grand time doing it.

The Suicide Squad supertrailer gives us a lot of insight into the film’s plot, according to Cinema Blend. What happens when you take the world’s worst supervillains and assemble them into an organization to fight the very chaos they’ve helped to create? You get the Suicide Squad, also known as Task Force X, better known as the “worst heroes ever.” The Suicide Squad supertrailer suggests that this collective was the brainchild of FBI officer Amanda Waller, played expertly by Viola Davis. Will Smith, Jai Courtney, Karen Fukuhara, and Joel Kinnaman round out the all-star cast of super-characters.
