Tom Hiddleston Enjoys ‘Good Fun’ At Comic-Con Without Taylor Swift: Where She’s Hiding [Video]
What makes Tom Hiddleston happy amid the brouhaha over Taylor Swift? Being on his own. That’s the impression Tom gave at Comic-Con, where ET reports that he was constantly smiling and upbeat without his girlfriend.
All on his own, Hiddleston cheerfully did his duty with his co-stars at Comic-Con. Although he was solo during the weekend, the British actor beamed as he posed with the rest of the cast from Kong: Skull Island. His smile lit up Instagram in numerous photos documenting his good times.
Enhancing his cheerful mood, Tom received a standing ovation when he stepped on the stage. The warm reception from the audience in San Diego, California, greeted the entire Kong panel. But Hiddleston, hiding his war wounds from the backlash against his new romance with the “Bad Blood” singer, earned special applause.
Asked about his overall experience at Comic-Con, Tom revealed his happiness and responded to a question about whether his girlfriend was there to support him.
“It’s been great, man. Real good fun,” gushed Tom, clarifying, “[I’m] just on my own.”
One of the actor’s co-stars in Kong, John Goodman, particularly contributed to Hiddleston’s joy. John shook his booty mightily as Tom observed from the rear with a combination of surprise and admiration.
But while Hiddleston was having so much “good fun” at Comic-Con, where was his girlfriend hiding out? The “Shake It Off” singer was shaking it off at the gym.
Geared up for a major workout session at her health club, Swift was seen heading to the gym in West Hollywood to sweat away her worries while Tom was at Comic-Con, according to Us Weekly.
That resulted in the two being involved in very different pursuits over the weekend. While his girlfriend was getting her glow on, Hiddleston was busy promoting the first trailer for Kong: Skull Island. Tom leads a team of explorers in his role of Captain James Conrad. The trailer premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 23.
In the sneak peek, Team Hiddleston makes it to Kong’s home. But it’s bad news, because Kong is not thrilled to host the team. Watch below to see what happens.
In addition to Hiddleston and Goodman, Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson have leading roles. Packard is played by Jackson, while Randa is portrayed by Goodman.
“You are going to tell me everything I don’t know, or I’m going to blow your head off,” Packard warns as he endangers Randa with a gun.
Adding to the tension, Tom’s team discovers a huge bloody hand print on the side of a mountain.
“This planet doesn’t belong to us,” cautions Randa.
In addition to his role in Kong: Skull Island, Hiddleston has been showing off his acting skills by nabbing his first Emmy nomination for The Night Manager. However, his romantic relationship with the “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer has trumped his acting career.
Will Hiddleston’s role in Kong: Skull Island succeed in dimming the spotlight on his romance with Swift? Fans won’t know for awhile, because the film directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts doesn’t debut in movie theaters until March 10, 2017.
When it comes to coping with all the media attention, however, it’s not just Swift who has discovered that a gym is a good place to hide while providing an opportunity to work off the stress. Tom and Taylor both have been heading to health clubs since they returned to Los Angeles, California, after their visit to Australia, reported E! News.
The two chose separate workout facilities and sported distinctly different outfits. While his girlfriend opted for printed yoga pants and a zip-up jacket, Hiddleston kept it simple in black shorts and T-shirt.
But although they worked out separately, they remain together, an insider told E! News.
“Taylor and Tom are in love with each other. He told her she is the kind of woman he wants to spend his life with,” shared the source. “They have gotten very close…Tom has been an inspiration in her music.”
