‘Once Upon A Time’: Darkness Within All ‘OUAT’ Characters The Theme Of Season 6 [Spoilers]

Warning: Once Upon A Time Season 6 spoilers are ahead.

Once Upon A Time Season 6 is getting closer to premiering on ABC network. What can fans expect from the residents of Storybrooke? OUAT spoilers were released at Comic-Con 2016. Besides new characters, introducing the Land Of Untold Stories, and Regina Mills being separated from The Evil Queen, what will happen? It turns out that the theme of Season 6 has to do with everyone having a darkness within them.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Regina (Lana Parrilla) and The Evil Queen are now two separate people. The dark force in Once Upon A Time will be “pure evil.” Viewers who thought they have seen evil from this character have seen nothing yet. Be prepared for plenty of chaos, destruction, and devastation. It was even revealed that The Evil Queen will try to kill everyone in Storybrooke.

At Comic-Con, executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz revealed plenty of OUAT spoilers that should excite fans. One is that Regina is not the only one who will be confronting the darkness within herself. According to Los Angeles Daily News, all of the characters in the fairy tale series will be going through the same thing. Obviously, Regina will be the most extreme and literal example of that, but don’t think for a second that the other characters will have it easier.

In addition to the darkness within each character, Edward Kitsis said in a Q&A session at Comic-Con that there is a second half to the theme of Season 6. It is the question of if the darkness can really be separated from an individual. A while back, Kitsis and Horowitz teased to Entertainment Weekly this same thing. The OUAT executive producers added the questions of if it is even possible and if so, should it be done?

“The separation of the dark and the light in Regina, I think it’s not as simple as just cutting someone in half and that’s something that we really want to explore,” Adam Horowitz said at Comic-Con. “Can you really just take one part of yourself out? What does that do the rest of you?”

Lana Parrilla, who will be portraying both Regina and The Evil Queen in Once Upon A Time, had something to add.

“I don’t know what The Evil Queen is going to awaken inside of (Regina),” Parilla replied. “Right now, the Evil Queen doesn’t have a conscience, she’s almost a psychopath.”

What other Once Upon A Time Season 6 spoilers were revealed during Comic-Con? Zelena (Rebecca Mader) is going to be part of the storyline with Regina and The Evil Queen. The sisters have a complicated relationship, and only time will tell what will happen next. Also, Belle (Emilie de Ravin) will be in a deep slumber due to a sleeping curse. She will wake up, but OUAT fans want to know why Belle stays with Rumple (Robert Carlyle). The actress explained that she doesn’t condone Rumple’s bad boy behavior, but she views Rumple as a challenge.

In addition to the exciting storylines coming up for Season 6, expect a lot of new characters. TVLine reported that Sinbad and Scheherezade would make appearances. Morpheus and the Count of Monte Cristo have also been added to the cast. Cinderella is returning, and at Comic-Con it was revealed that Aladdin, Jasmine, and Jafar are also coming to Storybrooke.

It was revealed that both Emma and Aladdin are considered “saviors,” and fans will see a connection in Season 6. Even though the title of Episode 1 is “The Savior,” the executive producers said they are not in a rush to get to Aladdin and Jafar’s stories. That is because in Season 5 there were so many loose ends to wrap up. Going forward, fans will see more of a “Season 1 and 2 kind of vibe.”
