Sonja Morgan Denies Being Jealous Of LuAnn De Lesseps, Says Snide Remarks Came From Anger At Tom D’Agostino

Sonja Morgan denies being jealous of LuAnn de Lesseps. After the latest episode of The Real Housewives of New York City aired on Wednesday night, which showed Sonja’s odd reaction to LuAnn’s engagement to Tom D’Agostino, Sonja defended herself after some viewers called her out for being jealous of LuAnn.

Apparently, Sonja was riled up when she did her confessional interview in which she dismissed LuAnn’s engagement ring and suggested that the relationship won’t last. In response to one viewer who tweeted that it’s really sad to see Sonja talk so poorly about LuAnn when LuAnn stood by her all season long, Sonja explained that she, after a recent conversation that she had, was mad at Tom the day she did her interview. It’s not clear who Sonja had the conversation with. Did she converse with Tom himself? Or did she talk to someone else who gave her new information regarding Tom?

In response to another viewer who tweeted that it seemed that Sonja was jealous of LuAnn, Sonja denied being jealous. She admitted that Tom’s not her soulmate but LuAnn’s. Sonja maintained that she’s happy for LuAnn. Yet Sonja did add, seemingly in reference to some of her questionable comments, that she’s always concerned for LuAnn. Sonja again reiterated that she was mad at Tom when she did her confessional interview.

What was Sonja shown saying about LuAnn’s engagement and her relationship on the most recent episode of The Real Housewives of New York City? The episode showed the housewives throwing LuAnn a celebratory dinner in celebration of her engagement. LuAnn gushed as she showed off her 8-carat canary-yellow diamond engagement ring and talked about how Tom proposed to her during their ski vacation in Vail. While the other women made supportive and happy comments, Sonja, who claims to have been “friends with benefits” for Tom for around 10 years and was still seeing him when he began dating LuAnn, was more quiet.

In fact, Sonja was shown having a weird look on her face and saying some comments that suggested she was less than happy. When LuAnn revealed that Tom’s parents were on the ski trip with them, Sonja seemed incredulous that LuAnn had already met the parents. When LuAnn sad that she and Tom were planning to get married on New Year’s Eve, Sonja complained about having to wait so long.

During a confessional interview that was shown during the engagement dinner scene, Sonja Morgan made even more questionable comments. At one point, Sonja called LuAnn de Lesseps’ diamond from Tom D’Agostino “murky.” Sonja even compared the “commitment ring” that she received from Harry Dubin in 2014 to LuAnn’s ring, making it clear whose ring she thinks is better.

“This situation is so loaded because she’s coming in with a 8-carat murky yellow diamond when I had a near flawless 4-carat, D flawless side…I’m like just, ‘Oh god.’ I’m just, I’m so happy for her but [heavy sigh].”

As for LuAnn and Tom’s plan to wed on New Year’s Eve, Sonja said that LuAnn may already move on to someone else by then.

“This is very premature. I wish this wedding was going off a little sooner. By the time we get to New Year’s, LuAnn could be engaged to another guy!”

Sonja also unconvincingly denied that she’s jealous of LuAnn.

“I’m not a jealous person. I really want them both to be happy. I’m not a jealous person. I really am not. I, um….”

While Sonja denies that she’s jealous, LuAnn believes that she is. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, LuAnn wrote in her blog post recapping the latest episode that while Sonja may deny that she’s jealous, her body language and facial expressions suggests otherwise. LuAnn even accused Sonja of being “fixated” on Tom.

A preview for the next The Real Housewives of New York City episode shows that Sonja Morgan will come face-to-face with Tom D’Agostino for the first time since he proposed to LuAnn de Lesseps. Awkwardly, all of the housewives, with the addition of Tom, stays on a yacht together. Will Sonja, in front of LuAnn, finally accuse Tom of still being intimate with her while beginning his relationship with LuAnn?
