‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7: What’s Wrong With Maggie? Theories That Have Nothing To Do With The Baby [Spoilers]

Warning: Theories and spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 7 are ahead.

The Walking Dead Season 7 trailer was finally released and it was incredible. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, a teaser trailer was leaked before Comic-Con 2016, which was basically a video version of the posters. Several of the main cast members were shown facing Negan’s barbed wire baseball bat and the characters were in tears. When the official trailer was released on Friday, it showed flashbacks of happier times as well as the addition of Ezekiel and Shiva.

While everyone is talking about who Negan killed in The Walking Dead, there are other characters that should be discussed. One is Maggie Greene and what is wrong with her. There are some TWD theories that have nothing to do with her unborn child.

Several months ago, some fans speculated that Maggie’s stomach pain was caused by food poisoning. Specifically, Enid giving Maggie poisoned pickles. This is a valid theory, but the amount of pain Lauren Cohan’s character was in doesn’t make it likely.

As viewers recall, the pain came on suddenly and was so severe that Maggie dropped to her knees. As the group was on their way to taking Maggie to the Hilltop Colony to see a doctor, they were captured by Negan and the Saviors. Maggie was sweating and it was mentioned that she had a high fever. That means her body is fighting some sort of infection, but that doesn’t mean it is the flu or any kind of virus.

What it could mean is that something is going on internally. Perhaps it is her gallbladder. For those that never had issues with gallstones, it can be more painful than childbirth, can cause a fever as well as a huge spike in blood pressure. As someone who experienced it right after having a child, the pain came on without warning and resulted from going from a sitting position to dropping to the knees, just like Maggie Greene.

Another theory was posted in a Facebook group called All Things TWD/Zombie/Zombie Shows & Movies. Someone mentioned that Maggie’s appendix may be about to burst on The Walking Dead. This is another possibility that would also cause intense pain. It would also explain the fever, chills, and why it came on so suddenly.

One other possibility is diverticulitis, a painful condition that has to do with the colon. Along the colon wall, there are small pouches and if they become inflamed or infected, it can result in severe stomach pain. According to WebMD, the symptoms include stomach pain that can be worse when the body is moving, fever, chills, bloating, nausea, constipation, and/or diarrhea. Maggie has some of these symptoms, so diverticulitis could be the diagnosis.

Out of all of these theories on The Walking Dead Season 7, the worst one would be an appendix that was getting ready to burst. Maggie would need to have her appendix removed immediately, but what would that mean for her unborn child? Would Robert Kirkman and the writers of TWD really make Maggie go through losing a child in order to save her own life? Will Maggie even be able to get to a doctor in time with Negan and the Saviors lining them up, getting ready to kill one of them? Fans only have a few more months to find out.

What do you think is wrong with Maggie on The Walking Dead? Does it have something to do with her unborn child or does she have a medical condition that is unrelated to the pregnancy? Will Maggie and Glenn’s baby die because of Negan not allowing her to get to a doctor? Out of all of these TWD theories, which one is the most likely?

The Walking Dead Season 7 premieres October 23 on AMC.
