Although the relationship between Pippa Middleton and her now-fiance James Matthews has seemed to be a rather new and speedy romance, the hedge fund millionaire has actually been wooing the sister to the Duchess of Cambridge for nearly a decade previous to popping the question last week. As the Daily Mail shares, the road to true love has been a winding one for Pippa, but has always involved luxurious treatment and romantic gestures by the men in her life.

As noted, Matthews has been making an effort to win Middleton over for 10 years now and he has finally been victorious in his efforts to do so. The publication shares the tactics used by James to finally get to the point of engagement.
“The Mail on Sunday can reveal that last weekend’s long-expected engagement to 40-year-old hedge fund millionaire James Matthews involved a decade of waiting, meticulous planning – and a dazzling campaign of gifts and treats that extended to her parents, too.”
Due to the the large sum he has earned from his involvement with Eden Rock Capital Management, which is the financial company named after his parents’ hotel in the Caribbean, Matthews is in a fantastic financial position and has been easily able to woo Pippa in the most lavish and extraordinary of ways.

The publication shared a couple of tokens that Middleton wears that were given to her by James and carry a hefty value.
“Today she wears not just a £250,000 art deco engagement ring with a three-carat Asscher-cut diamond at its centre, but the £14,500 Cartier Ballon Bleu watch he gave her, too.”
What does the millionaire have planned in the future for his soon-to-be wife? Apparently Pippa can expect a brand new set of wheels. And not just any car either. The 32-year-old will reportedly be gifted her very own classic car with a price tag of £100,000. and the publication shares that “James is said to have enlisted the help of high society dealer Ed Lovett to source a ‘sporty, sexy number’ for his fiancee to zip around London in.” What a gentleman. It’s been reported that a ” 1960s Mercedes Pagoda, like the one driven by Kate Moss, is apparently top of the wishlist.”
The continued wooing by James carries over into lavish getaways, as well. Although Pippa and James do enjoy their trips to partake in grueling races, they have been known to jet off on romantic vacations. Between Corsica and Verbier, the two are never far from the lap of relaxation and luxury when not hiking mountains and skiing cross country.
And while in London, Matthews does not let up on the romance either. The couple is often seen out together in some of the city’s most exclusive restaurants. Most recently the pair were seen on a double date at Casa Cruz, which is a hot locale to dine in the trendy Notting Hill neighborhood. Additionally, Pippa and James were spotted at Cambio del Tercio in South Kensington.
If that’s not all impressive enough, Matthews was sure to not only woo Pippa, but also the entire Middleton clan, when he flew the whole family to St Barth’s to stay at his parents’ hotel. That is sure to score hefty points with the in-laws.
So as it turns out, the younger Middleton sister may not be royalty like older sister Kate, but she is certainly being treated like a future queen, just like the Duchess. It’s plain to see that those Middleton ladies sure know how to reel in the keepers and have set themselves up for lives of luxury.
