Psychiatric Hospital Child Patients Reportedly Experimented On, Injected With ‘Truth Serum’ [Video]

According to claims made by many former child patients at a notorious UK psychiatric hospital, they were victimized repeatedly during their stays at Aston Hall. The ex-child patients allege that they endured sexual abuse, were experimented upon and even injected with a so-called “truth serum,” sodium amytal. The victims, many of whom are now in the 60s and 70s, allege that they were child patients of Dr. Kenneth Milner when their abuse took place.

As the BBC reports, Dr. Milner was the psychiatric hospital’s medical superintendent.

The abuse of the psychiatric hospital’s child patients reportedly took place in the 1960s and 1970s, however, the reported systematic abuse at the psychiatric hospital didn’t come to light until very recently. The catalyst for the mass revelation of alleged abuse of child patients at the facility was uncovered when a group of “urban explorers” investigated the now-abandoned psychiatric hospital and posted pictures online.

Former child patients of Aston Hall Hospital began to comment on the photos; they began to share their stories of child abuse at the facility. It didn’t take long for it to become apparent that many of the former child patients thought that they had been “the only one” to endure the unthinkable torment at the psychiatric facility.

Since the photos were published and alleged abuse victims began to come forward, a support group made up of former child patients of the hospital has been formed. The formation of the Aston Hall abuse survivors support group caused even more former child patients to come forward with their stories.

One of the former child patients of the psychiatric hospital who alleges that she was abused at Aston Hall is identified only as Marianne. When she told her story to the media, she explained that she had been taken to the psychiatric hospital as a teen when she began acting out, getting in trouble both at home and with law enforcement.

She says that during one instance of abuse, she was in a “session” with Dr. Kenneth Milner when she was forced to strip and change into a hospital gown. She alleges that the doctor told her that he had questions for her, then injected her with the so-called “truth serum.”

“I can remember equating it to being drunk and I was going: ‘I feel like I’ve had about a bottle of gin, I feel like I’ve had about two bottles of gin’. And I can remember going: ‘Happy Christmas, doctor.'”

Her accounting of being drugged is similar to what many other former child patients of the psychiatric hospital claim happened to them. Some alleged victims say that they were bound or restrained before being injected.

The BBC reviewed the medical records from the medical facility and discovered that child patients at the hospital were regularly given large doses of sodium amytal during the very time period that so many are now claiming to have been abused at Aston Hall. While that might not seem like some kind of conspiracy, the fact is that the drug had no practical applications for use in children in the 1960s or later.

It had formerly been used in lieu of psychotherapy during World War II, but it was eventually dismissed as ineffective.

“As far as I knew nobody was using [sodium amytal] with children at that time.”

It wasn’t just the fact that children were drugged with the so-called “truth serum” while they at the hospital that is causing so much concern. It’s also what the former child patients of the hospital allege often happened to him while they were drugged. Many have claimed to have been sexually abused and assaulted, with some females claiming that they were forced to endure “internal examinations” after being drugged.

Authorities in the UK are currently investigating the claims of former child patients who allege they suffered extensive abuse while being “treated” at Aston Hall psychiatric hospital. However, and perhaps unfortunately for victims, law enforcement cannot investigate Dr. Kenneth Milner himself. He died in 1975.

Aston Hall psychiatric hospital is currently slated for demolition, but the destruction of the building can’t undo the damage allegedly done to many of the hospital’s former child patients.
