Girl Caught On Camera Playing ‘Pokémon GO’ During Beyoncé Concert

Pokémon GO is a smartphone application and video game that has taken the nation by storm. If you aren’t playing it, chances are pretty good you know someone who is playing. Whether you play it or not, it is hard to miss information about the game as it is constantly making media headlines – and not always in a positive light. Pokémon GO players are becoming so obsessed with this game it appears as if they will do just about anything to catch a Pokémon. In fact, one Pokémon GO player was caught on camera playing Pokémon GO during a Beyoncé concert while Beyoncé was singing! One can only assume the tickets to this Beyoncé concert were expensive as the girl playing Pokémon GO is close enough to the stage the singer is performing on that she could reach out and touch Beyoncé.

How are Beyoncé fans reacting to this Pokémon GO players decision to play the game instead of watching and listening to the singer’s performance? Not well.

In the video the Pokémon GO player was captured in, you can hear the individual recording the video cursing about how frustrated he is that the girl is choosing to play Pokémon GO instead of watching Beyoncé. According to Cosmopolitan, the narrator of the video does a great job of voicing the frustration most of the people watching the video – especially the viewers who are fans of Beyoncé – are feeling.

As of July 24 at nearly 1 a.m., the video on Instagram of the Pokémon GO player at the Beyoncé concert has acquired a little over 4,000 comments. Most of the comments on the Instagram video have nothing nice to say about this Pokémon GO player. “Disrespect” and “disrespectful” are words frequently used by commenters who question why the Pokémon GO player even bothered going to the Beyoncé concert if she was not going to enjoy it. Naturally, there were several commenters who said they would have happily taken the Pokémon GO player’s place at the Beyoncé concert if she really didn’t want to be there.

There were, however, a few commenters who defended the Pokémon GO player, saying she paid for the tickets to the Beyoncé concert, and she should be able to do whatever she wanted with them. If she wanted to listen to Beyoncé sing in person while playing Pokémon GO, she should have been able to do that without anyone criticizing her.

“Annnnd she [The Pokémon Go player] isn’t God. If she wants to find Pokemons at a Beyoncé concert she can. She paid for her set she can do what she wants on her money.”

One couple even decided to share their reaction to the Pokémon GO player at the Beyoncé concert through a video on YouTube.

In the video, the couple makes it clear that they think the Pokémon GO player at the Beyoncé concert was being ungrateful and should have gone to the back to free up the space close to the stage for someone who would actually appreciate being at a Beyoncé concert, instead of playing a video game.

This couple, however, did take an interesting turn in the reaction video when they decided to talk more about the Pokémon GO game itself. The couple wanted to touch on the fact that the game was a little overrated. The female in the video did say, to be fair, they couldn’t say that with complete truth because they have never played the game. However, they felt they were likely a little too “grown up” for Pokémon GO.
