‘Basketball Wives LA’: Tami Roman Still Feuding With DJ Duffey

DJ Duffey was introduced during the Season 5 premiere of Basketball Wives LA and she’s quickly making more enemies than friends. Fans of the VH1 reality show saw Malaysia immediately go at it with Duffey when Brandi Maxiell tried to introduce her two best friends to each other. Now, Tami Roman is also trading jabs with the Dallas, TX native in a feud that has spilled over to social media.

Fans have already seen Malaysia’s strong reaction to newcomer DJ Duffey. It turns out she’s not the only BBWLA veteran who really doesn’t care for the reality TV virgin. As for why Tami has now taken up against Brandi’s BFF, it’s still unclear. A sneak peek from an upcoming episode shows the pair sparring and we already know the feud is still raging online.

Could Duffey and Tami’s issues be directly related to Brandi Maxiell? It’s no secret that there is bad blood between Brandi and Shaunie O’Neal. The Basketball Wives LA executive producer didn’t even want Brandi to return for Season 5. Fans got to see Shaunie give Brandi the boot during a dramatic Season 4 scene, only to eat her words when VH1 intervened and let her know that a contract is a contract and Brandi would be back. So much for being the boss huh?

Well, Shaunie and Tami Roman are tight. On BBWLA, they are besties and often come to each other’s defense. It looks like Season 5 may be no different from the others as the reality TV women pick sides yet again. This time, though, Tami isn’t going for Brandi, she’s going for her best friend Duffey.

According to Enstars, the social media feud lit up when Tami’s daughter, Jazz Anderson, decided to crack a few jokes about the casting of the VH1 reality show. She teased that Shaunie O’Neal had cast pretty much everyone except actual basketball wives and it’s true. Right now, not a single woman starring on Basketball Wives LA is dating an active NBA player.

“I’m watching ‘Basketball Wives’ right and Shaunie do not care,” VH1 reported that Jazz said on Snapchat. “She will let anybody be on the show. She got somebody dating a basketball agent. I’m gonna come on there in a couple years and be like ‘Hello my name is Jazz Anderson. I date the water boy for the Cavaliers.”

DJ Duffey saw the Snap and was rightfully offended. Out of all the women on BBWLA, her fiance doesn’t even play basketball at all. He is actually a basketball agent and a pretty popular one at that. The whole catfight between the Basketball Wives LA stars played out on Instagram and screenshots were caught by The Shade Room.

Duffey fired back at Jazz, “But u was fan of mine tho…Let’s be clear… I made the show because I’m THAT b***h.. my n***a is a bonus. When u out here livin but they worried about u…”

It didn’t take Tami Roman long to come to her daughter’s defense. She responded to Duffey, telling her that Jazz was never actually her fan. Instead, Tami claims that Jazz was really a fan of Currency, another DJ, but that they had said she was into DJ Duffey for Basketball Wives LA.

Tami also pointed out that Jazz wasn’t even trying to throw shade at Duffey before she freaked out on her. The whole Snapchat video was directed at Shaunie O’Neal and it was supposedly a joke between the women.

That didn’t stop DJ Duffey from clapping back at Tami though. She responded, “But your[sic] 46 years old trying to fight with a 27 year old for a check. Girl bye. You need a storyline more than me! I’m a DJ first! Never forget that. And please stop exploiting your daughter for ratings… It’s not cute.. Back to getting this Shmoney..Without having to argue with senior citizens.”

Well, that got ugly fast! Basketball Wives LA has only aired one episode in Season 5 and the feuding is already out of control. Be sure to check out future episodes to see how it all goes down and don’t forget that the VH1 reality TV ladies are returning an hour earlier than normal.

Basketball Wives LA airs Sundays at 8/7c on VH1.
