Prince George: British Royals Release New Photos In Celebration Of Tot’s 3rd Birthday [Video]

The elite British royals have released a handful of photographs of young Prince George in honor of the toddler’s third birthday on July 22. None of the photographs have been seen before; all are new, and all are adorable, reports CNN. According to reports, the British royals’ Prince George pics were released on Twitter for the world to coo over, and they were made public on Friday.

The newly released pics of the cherubic Prince George are relaxed; they bring to mind a pastel-hued family picnic and make the most royal tot in the world (and his insanely elite parents) appear just like the rest of us (almost).

According to Kensington Palace, the royal couple Prince William and his wife Kate were thrilled to share the photos of young Prince George with the world at large. Since the little one was born, he’s been the subject of adoration and media attention from royal-watchers the world over.

“The Duke and Duchess hope that people will enjoy seeing these new photographs. They would like to thank everyone for all the lovely messages they have received as Prince George celebrates his third birthday.”

As the Daily Mail reports, the new photos of Prince George released by the British royals, despite appearing to be totally candid, were actually taken by photographer Matt Porteous, a professional photographer. According to the photog, he was stoked for the opportunity to take the photos of the young prince, photographs that will almost certainly become iconic as one of the few living heirs to the British throne ages.

“‘I really enjoyed the opportunity to take these photographs of Prince George. It was a very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. I’m honoured that they have decided to share these images with the public to mark his third birthday.”

Prince George, who just celebrated his third birthday, is also third in line to the British throne. The only ones ahead of him are his grandfather, Prince Charles, and his famous daddy, Prince William. William is the eldest son of Prince Charles and the now-deceased Princess Diana, and his relationship with Kate Middleton was the stuff of tabloid fodder for years before the pair were finally wed.

Since the wedding, the tabloids have focused more on the youngest members of the royal family.

In addition to being photographed by Matt Porteous as the subject of some of the most famous pics in recent history, young Prince George was also treated with a third birthday celebration fit for a king (or at least a future king). The British royals celebrated the third anniversary of wee Prince George’s birth with a massive birthday bash at Anmer Hall, the royals’ mansion in Norfolk.

In addition to his royal family, his Middleton grandparents and plenty of school chums rang in the big day alongside Prince George.

Newly 3-year-old Prince George is big brother to Princess Charlotte, and there have been plenty of recent rumors that his mom Kate may be in the family way once again, but the rumors haven’t been confirmed.

This isn’t the first time that Prince George’s royal birthday has been celebrated in photo form. Prince William and wife Kate (officially Duchess of Cambridge) have released one official photo per year since the birth of the young prince in honor of his birthday. This year they upped their game a bit by releasing four.

The tot is, understandably, rarely engaged in public appearances. As the oldest child and only son of Kate and William, his is a life marked by caution and security. However, the British royals did allow the young prince to make his first official engagement as a royal heir at the the Royal International Air Tattoo event in Fairford.

What do you think of the birthday photos of Prince George recently released by the British royals?
