‘Walking Dead’ On Comic-Con: New Trailer Introduces Special Characters Ezekiel, Shiva — What Will These Characters Do To Change The Game? [Spoilers]

The Comic-Con has been on fire over the past few days because of the massive trailer releases from The Walking Dead. Now, fans are clamoring to see how the newly introduced characters will impact the show.

The trailer for the next season of The Walking Dead has shed light on the person that Negan attacked with his bat. Aside from that, they also officially announced that Ezekiel and Shiva will both be featured in the next season.

In the comics version of The Walking Dead, Ezekiel, known as “King Ezekiel,” is the main character of Issue 108. He was considered as a strong character for the community because he had his massive pet tiger, Shiva, according to Entertainment Weekly.

However, Shiva is not just a simple pet that he just brings around to bring out fear in people’s eyes. Shiva is actually an important part of their storyline.

Since Negan has succeeded in his goals during the past seasons, King Ezekiel is set to be his biggest enemy for the season. Ezekiel did not really hate Negan at the start, but since he is very close with Paul Monroe who had this seeded hatred on Negan, he also vowed to defeat him.

King Ezekiel is just like any other conventional king. He is eccentric, flamboyant, and wise. Aside from his authority over the community, the people actually like him. He has this aura of wisdom and truth, so people were immediately attracted to him. At the end of the day, you would not call him “King” if he did not have the basic qualities of the leader role.

[Warning: Spoilers ahead!]

However, being King is no easy feat. There is very little information about Ezekiel’s background before the apocalypse. In Issue 110, he was featured as a former zookeeper. This is probably the beginning of his relationship with the tiger Shiva.

Ezekiel would soon be featured as a broken man as he would later on reveal that his father has died when he was young and his mother never took care of him.

Because of his insecurities as an orphan, it would sometimes be apparent during his troubled times as “King Ezekiel.” As a powerful man after the apocalypse, he never wanted people to see him as weak. Though he is a pretty optimistic guy, he is extremely hard on himself.

[NEXT SET OF SPOILERS!!!]

Ezekiel will form an alliance with Dwight, Rick, and Paul. They have this plan to take down Negan and the growing influence of the Saviors. In the beginning, Ezekiel will tone down his presence and just advise the alliance from time to time. He would also tell Rick to focus on conquering the outpost area.

Ezekiel would soon begin putting his feet down and informing his forces to attack Alexandria. This is a bold but effective move for the alliance since this would get Negan in a corner.

Negan would still find a way to escape. Rick wanted to follow him and hopefully finish the task, but Ezekiel told him to stand down because they are still being outnumbered by the Saviors. If they push through, even if they had won the preliminary battle, they would just be lured in the massive terrain of the Savior army.

King Ezekiel has a very special person in his life, aside from Shiva. Michonne would be the only influencer on Ezekiel.

Shiva would be loyal to Ezekiel in all his wars against the Saviors. It was actually because of Shiva and Paul Monroe that they were able to dominate the Alexandria Safe-Zone.

The duo would be unstoppable.

For more information on this new pairing, fans should wait for the return of Season 7 on Oct. 23.
