Jon Gosselin Forced To Quit TGI Friday’s Job After Leaked Photo Ruins Everything

Jon Gosselin is hopping mad. The former Jon and Kate Plus 8 star has quit his part-time job at TGI Friday’s after someone leaked a photo of him with two other members of the restaurant’s kitchen staff and sold it to a tabloid. According to the Hollywood Gossip, one of Gosselin’s co-workers at the Lancaster, PA branch of the restaurant chain allegedly sold the story of Gosselin’s part-time gig as a prep cook, as well as a photo of him working in the kitchen, to the celebrity gossip site TMZ.

In a now-deleted Twitter post captured by THG, Gosselin slammed the media outlet for ruining a job that he enjoyed.

“Hey @tmz thanks a lot for ruining something I [was] passionate about, good job interfering!!! FYI, I was donating my checks to charity!” Gosselin posted in the now-removed tweet.

In an interview with Dallas radio station 103.7, Jon Gosselin revealed that he was forced to quit the restaurant job that he took as a favor for a buddy because he can no longer trust the other employees.

“I’m not going to work there anymore because now the trust and the teamwork is gone,” Gosselin told the radio station. “Now someone took a picture of me and sold it … Now I gotta leave a job I was passionate about.”

Jon Gosselin defended his reasons for taking the job to begin with, telling Entertainment Tonight that it was very part time and that he only did it because he likes to cook. Jon also questioned why it was such a big deal that he was even working there.

“I only work there 8 hours a week, because I like to do it,” Gosselin said before announcing that he would be quitting. “Why can’t I work at a restaurant? I like to cook. My buddy needed help so I said ‘OK, why not, I’ll sauté!'”

Jon Gosselin was particularly upset by the leaked photo of him with two other kitchen staffers.

“I see the picture and I’m wondering who leaked it,” Jon said. “They don’t really understand how it works. How many people it affects and the chain reaction.”

Gosselin told ET that he was grateful that Fridays hired him as a cook “just as me, not the reality TV me.” Jon initially said he would be taking a two-week break from his prep cook job while the hoopla dies down, and that he hoped to return to the chain after that. But his radio interview now makes it sound like he won’t be returning to Fridays at all.

Jon Gosselin previously told Us Weekly that he doesn’t need the money from the TGI Fridays job and that he was only doing it as a hobby.

“I work at TGI Fridays eight hours a week and give my paycheck to charity,” Jon told Us. “I love cooking, what’s wrong with that? I don’t need the money. DJ-ing is still my real job.”

Jon’s ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, has not commented on her ex’s charitable cook job. Kate has been keeping busy promoting her current TLC reality show, Kate Plus 8.

Jon Gosselin has long made headlines for his ever-changing career choices. In addition to his DJ residency at a club in his hometown, Jon has worked as an IT tech, a solar panel installer, and even as a waiter since the demise of his reality show after his 2009 divorce from Kate.

Of course, it’s not surprising that the news that Jon Gosselin took a job at TGI Fridays brought plenty of commentary on social media.
