Bethenny Frankel Suffers ‘Real Housewives Of New York City’ Reunion Breakdown?

Bethenny Frankel reportedly endured a “brutal” taping of The Real Housewives of New York City Season 8 reunion at the end of last week.

As her divorce from Jason Hoppy was preparing to be finalized, Bethenny Frankel reunited with her co-stars, including Jules Wainstein, Ramona Singer, LuAnn de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Dorinda Medley, and Carole Radziwill, to film the Bravo special, which will air in the coming weeks.

“[Bethenny Frankel] was sobbing,” a show insider told Radar Online on July 20. “She had a complete meltdown.”

According to the report, Bethenny Frankel had an “epiphany” about her Season 8 behavior after being confronted with a montage of her nastiest fights with her co-stars.

“[Bethenny Frankel] was genuinely upset by how she came across onscreen,” the insider revealed. “Often, she doesn’t realize how she comes across.”

In addition to being forced to face her often aggressive behavior, Bethenny Frankel was reportedly exhausted by the 12-hour filming session — and who wouldn’t be? Since the franchise began many years ago, reunion tapings have been the most dramatic tapings of all and often, tears are shed and allegations are made.

In other Bethenny Frankel news, the reality star, who is worth a reported $25 million, recently finalized her divorce from Jason Hoppy nearly four years after separating. In December, 2012, the couple parted ways after just under three years of marriage and one child together, daughter Bryn Casey Hoppy, 6, and in January, 2013, Bethenny Frankel filed for divorce.

“Jason is thrilled that this chapter of his life is over; he is extremely pleased with the settlement that was reached. Jason looks forward to the future and enjoying that time privately with family, friends and most important to him, his daughter,” Hoppy’s attorney, Bernard Clair, said in a statement to People Magazine on July 18.

Meanwhile, Bethenny Frankel’s lawyer, Allan Mayefsky, released a statement on her behalf, which read, “Out of respect for her privacy and the well-being of her daughter, Bethenny is declining to comment. We can confirm that the divorce has been resolved. Our client is ecstatic that this long chapter is over, and she is looking forward to moving on with her life.”

Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy were able to come to an agreement for their daughter in 2014 and have been sharing custody ever since.

During their marriage, Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy appeared on three seasons of their Real Housewives of New York City spinoffs, Bethenny Getting Married and Bethenny Ever After, before leaving reality television and parting ways soon after.

Since Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy parted ways, Frankel has been linked to a number of men, including Michael Cerussi and Warren Lichtenstein, but currently, she is dating businessman Dennis Shields, who just so happens to be technically married.

During a recent episode of The Real Housewives of New York City Season 8, Bethenny Frankel was seen speaking to her co-star and friend Carole Radziwill about her boyfriend, who she had recently gone on vacation with. She then spoke of her new man during her confessional.

“It’s nice to date someone really smart and passionate, and who’s busy,” Bethenny Frankel shared during the confessional, according to a report by E! News last month. “I don’t want him living my life in my apartment with my money. I want a partner.”
