‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Releases Victim Teaser Photos [Pics]

The Walking Dead is the kind of show that hangs millions of people out on a cliff and waits over three months to give them rope. Although the victim from the Season 6 finale has not been revealed, The Walking Dead producers have teased fans with some new photos that show Negan’s bat next to the head of a victim.

It may not be the classiest move by The Walking Dead, but they are genuine thriller pictures that have been posted to social media. As a matter of fact, according to Entertainment Weekly, the photos help fans get a little perspective as to how soon they can see the answer to their burning question.

Greg Nicotero, who is the well-known executive producer and special effects guru for The Walking Dead, has gone to great lengths to try and calm the fires of those who have been waiting patiently for the victim answer.

“Yes, who was at the receiving end of Negan’s bat will be revealed in the first episode,” Greg Nicotero told Entertainment Weekly.

For those who are still playing catch up with The Walking Dead comic books, then you can skip to the part where Negan is first introduced in the series and he takes one swipe that delivers a death blow to Glenn Rhee’s head.

But here is the caveat to that. What fans do know about The Walking Dead TV series is that even though it clings to the comic book series as canon, it strays away from that series and delivers some truly mesmerizing storylines that have fans of the show dropping their jaws, or in some cases, cheering.

The Walking Dead comic book is too easy for fans of the AMC show to get spoilers from. It is too easy to cling to The Walking Dead comic book and determine that Glenn Rhee is at the receiving end of Negan’s bat.

But therein lies the cliffhanger that producers for The Walking Dead knew that fans would pick up on right away. With all of the storylines that have went astray of the comic book series, there is only a minor chance at all that Negan killed Glenn on the show.

What’s even more telling is that fans of The Walking Dead still knew, before the last episode of Season 6 even aired, that Negan was going to kill someone from the core group. It was going to be someone loved by fans and there was no way out of it.

Just take a moment, if you will, and consider how masterful that final scene played out on The Walking Dead. Not only did the writers for the AMC show know what you knew, they also knew that all they had to do was line up all of the potential victims in a row, on their knees, and you would sink into the moment knowing that one (and only one) of them were going to get their brains bashed in by Negan’s infamous bat, Lucille.

It takes a brilliant mind to pull off something like that. Those brilliant minds that are driving force behind The Walking Dead include showrunner Scott Gimple, Greg Nicotero, and creator Robert Kirkman. All three of those minds together pulled of this amount of enthusiasm for the AMC show and they were able to pull viewers in all the way to that fading moment in the final scene of Season 6.

Now that Season 7 of The Walking Dead is just around the corner (SDCC 2016), there is about to be a whole host of new ammunition for fans to regroup and take new footage to extreme limits by analyzing trailer footage for potential spoilers. Amateur fans of The Walking Dead should know that hard-core fans are some of the most gifted analysts in the industry.
