Selena Gomez & Britney Spears Tease New Duet
Britney Spears and Selena Gomez are teasing a possible new duet on social media.
The big duet tease went down after Selena update account Official Selenators took to Twitter to share a recent Snapchat video from Gomez, in which she discussed being a part of the charity single “Hands,” on which Spears also features.
“Well babe, technically I have done a duet with Britney,” Selena tells fans in the short Snapchat video. “[It’s] called ‘Hands,’ buy it.”
Selena’s Britney confession then went on to catch the eye of Spears herself, who replied to the 10 second video with a very intriguing offer.

“Technically, yes,” Britney tweeted in response to Gomez’s Snapchat video. “But when are we working on our actual duet @selenagomez?”
Britney’s duet offer got fans seriously excited on social media, with many fans taking to Twitter to encourage the twosome to hit the studio together for a duet as soon as possible.
“WHAT IS THIS IM SCREAMING PLEASE DUET” Twitter user @RickyPDillon replied to Britney’s duet tease, while social media fan @jclassybutnasty tweeted of a possible duet, “Please tell me this is a real thing. It would be perfect!”
“Oh my god imagine we will get a real duet from Selena and Britney one day. This would be f****** amazing,” @holyneIena added, and Twitter fan @0snapitzemma wrote following Spears’s sweet message for Gomez, “Selena and Britney duet would be so amazing, it needs to happen!!”

Selena Gomez is yet to officially respond to Britney’s request for a duet, though Gomez hasn’t exactly been shy about her love for Spears in the past.
Britney Spears was most recently the topic of discussion in Selena’s recent interview with Marie Claire, where Gomez revealed before the duet rumors began to swirl that her first ever concert was a Britney show and the first CD she ever bought was actually Spears’ …Baby One More Time.
“My first concert was Britney Spears. First CD I ever bought as well, …Baby One More Time,” Selena told the magazine earlier this year.
“We were all the way up in the nosebleeds, where I was living my life,” Selena continued of her first show, adding that her first concert experience with Britney was “so fun.”
But despite Gomez gushing over Spears for years, prior to the release of “Hands,” the closest the two came to a duet actually came in 2011 when Selena’s recorded the track “Whiplash.”
The song was featured on Selena’s 2011 album When The Sun Goes Down, and was actually co-written by Britney, though she passed on featuring the track on her 2008 album, Circus.
Gomez later spoke out about recording the hit in an interview with MTV, where she admitted that putting her vocals on a track written by Spears was an “honor” for her.
“I just heard the song; I fell in love with it,” Selena said. “They gave it to me, the producers who worked on it, and I came and sang and saw that she had co-written it, so I was very excited.”
But it’s not just in the studio where Selena has shown her love for Britney, as Gomez also paid homage to Spears during her We Own The Night Tour, where she performed a Spears medley made up of some of the star’s biggest hits including “Toxic,” “…Baby One More Time,” and “Oops!… I Did It Again.”
