Indecent Exposure: Consternation Over London Pensioners Caught In Public Sex Scandal
With the warmer weather in the U.K. recently, there has been an outbreak of what is termed “dogging” – or the practice of exhibitionist sexual activity in a public place. What is surprising the Croydon police more than anything is the number of pensioners who have been caught having public sex.
While normally the Croydon police would imagine younger people would be more likely to engage in public coitus, it was quite the eye-opener – and jaw-dropper – to discover that the worst culprits were actually aging pensioners.
You might think people would head somewhere private when feeling overly frisky in the warmer weather, but for some reason, pensioners are flocking particularly to two car parks in south London to have marathon sessions of public sex. Reportedly the practice has also spread into the nearby woodlands.

According to a report by the International Business Times, after receiving an onslaught of public indecency complaints involving erotic elders in the car parking areas at the Royal Garden Restaurant and Karaoke Bar, officials are now taking action.
Police are blaming the warmer weather for the fact that the elderly are literally tossing caution to the wind, throwing off their clothing and having public sex in the car park. However, it’s not just the sight of the grappling couples that is causing upset, as there are also complaints of used condoms and dirty tissues laying around at the scene once they are done.
As noted by the Croydon Guardian, one “swingers'” website has described that area of Croydon as having “particularly good dogging action in the summer.”
Constable Barry Swift of the Croydon police spoke to the Croydon Guardian about the issue.
“If you Google it, Croydon comes up as the third best place in the country for dogging,” referring to the British English expression for the practice of “watching or engaging in exhibitionist sexual activity in a public place.”
However, while the area is popular for the practice, he carried on by saying, “The people who are coming in take part in sexual activities are not just youngsters – we are looking at pensioners, which is quite surprising.”
“They are committing offenses, the place is littered with dirty condoms and tissues so it is really advertising that people are turning a blind eye to it. If you’re going through the park with your kids and one of your children falls over in those tissues it is not very nice.”
Swift continued by saying both car parks are being used – but for different sexual proclivities – saying, “One side is specifically gays and bisexuals and the other side is for straights. It has been going on for years.”
“It has got worse; recently we started getting some reports of sexual assaults.”
Swift went on to describe the numerous reports of sexual assaults near the “dogging” hot spots, including one man who jumped out of nowhere and masturbated in front of a woman.

Reportedly, children have also been forced to witness people engaging in public sex, including a dog walker who was heading through the nearby park with her children.
The Croydon police have decided enough is enough and are meeting with Croydon Council’s environmental team in an effort to make things harder for the horny and public lovers.
Swift said: “Hopefully we will sort out a day of action and go down there and clean up the woods, trim and cut back the trees.”
The police have also been sending out plain clothed and uniformed officers into the nearby woods, explaining to the public that what they are doing is unacceptable and pointing out they will continue patrolling the area until the practice is stopped and the place is cleaned up.
However, Swift also warned against various vigilante groups that have been taking matters into their own hands, catching the “doggers” in the act of public sex. He told them to beware, as innocent people are also getting caught up in the crossfire.
According to him, one vigilante group is catching people’s license plates on video in the area and posting them on YouTube.
“The thing is we get people who don’t know what goes on in the car park who are innocent but getting their cars videoed and labeled as dogging.”
