Lady Gaga And Taylor Kinney Split: Singer Tells Fans To ‘Root’ For Them

After five years, Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney have called it quits. The couple, who were engaged for a year, have decided to go their separate ways for now. As the Inquisitr reported, TMZ noticed that Gaga was not wearing her engagement ring while in Malibu.

Prior to that, Gaga hadn’t posted anything on her Instagram account featuring Taylor Kinney in seven weeks, which is very unlike the couple, who often show their love and support of one another on social media. The bigger indication that the engagement was off is that Gaga was nowhere to be found when Kinney celebrated his 35th birthday.

Now, Lady Gaga is asking for fans to keep them in their thoughts, so it seems like the singer still has hope to reconcile with the Chicago Fire star. As the Hollywood Reporter cited, Gaga posted on her Instagram after the news broke. Lady Gaga posted the last image she shared with her fans seven weeks ago and captioned a message to her supporters.

“Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We’re just like everybody else and we really love each other.”

It’s not that hard to see why Gaga would want to address her fans, especially her Little Monsters, about the split. She has always been transparent with her fans and nurtures them through her role as Mother Monster, a moniker she gave herself early on in her career. When the news hit of Gaga’s split hit, fans were concerned and some even devastated.

Fans even made the hashtag #WeLoveYouGaga trend on Twitter in support of the singer, who is obviously going through a rough time because of the split.

Currently, Lady Gaga is in Mexico doing charity work for Casa Hogar in Cabo San Lucas. She’s currently working in a Mexican orphanage and has spread awareness through Twitter.

March 1 was the last time we saw Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney in public when the two took the Polar Plunge in Chicago. This was the second time they decided to brave the icy waters to raise money for the Special Olympics Chicago.

In an Instagram post, Gaga shared, “We love the city of Chicago and the Polar Plunge for The Special Olympics. These men and women are brave and powerful. Me and Taylor love getting cold in your honor every year.”

Before that, the couple looked like they were in love at the Academy Awards. The two hit the red carpet and were all smiles back then. Lady Gaga was nominated for her first Oscar for her powerful anthem, “Till It Happens to You,” which was featured in a documentary about campus rape, The Hunting Ground.

While it was Gaga’s big night, the singer turned actress put the spotlight on her fiance, Taylor Kinney, with an Instagram post.

“I never thought anyone would ever love me because I felt like my body was ruined by my abuser. But he loves the survivor in me. He’s stood by me all night proud and unashamedly. THATS a real man.”
